Tucked in the heart of Westboro, Fratelli Italian Restaurant delivers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully blends authenticity, comfort, and charm. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a cozy, welcoming vibe that feels both refined and relaxed perfect for a date night or a leisurely dinner with friends.
The service is exceptional, attentive without being intrusive and every member of the team radiates genuine hospitality. The food is the true star here: rich, vibrant flavors that taste straight out of Italy. The pasta is perfectly al dente, sauces are deeply flavorful, and the presentation shows real care and craftsmanship. We enjoyed 3 bottles of Felino red wine , what an incredibly delicious treat!
Fratelli has that rare combination of top-tier cuisine, heartfelt service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after the last bite. An absolute must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Italian dining experience in Ottawa.

I found this review difficult to write after seeing all the wonderful comments about the food—perhaps the kitchen was just having an off night when we visited. The Beet Salad was excellent, but we found our mains rather tasteless and not quite the Italian flavours we’re used to in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
That said, the restaurant itself was very charming, with authentic Italian décor and lovely music that created a warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and even allowed us to come in early for our reservation. They even discounted our bill after our server asked if we made the right choices.
One thing to keep in mind is that the bathrooms are located down a long staircase, which may be challenging for some guests.
Overall, a beautiful setting with great service—hopefully just an off night in the kitchen.

I had an amazing dinner at Fratelli’s and have to give a huge shout-out to Juliana and Luca for their outstanding service. From the moment I sat down, they were warm, attentive, and genuinely made me feel welcome.
I ordered the chicken parm, and it was absolutely perfect — crispy, flavourful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. The whole experience felt effortless and well taken care of, thanks to the fantastic staff.
If you’re looking for great food paired with exceptional service, Fratelli’s is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had my wedding reception at Fratelli in May and it was the perfect dinner and perfect location! The staff were above and beyond incredible and the atmosphere was romantic and comfortable. They are incredibly accommodating to all dietary restrictions and allergies. I would say we will definitely be back but we already have been!

Amazing Valentine’s dinner! Atmosphere was lovely, waitress was lovely, and the food was mostly amazing!
Tried the burrata starter and was in absolute heaven, it was delicious! My only thing was I ordered pasta for dinner and it was a bit tough, I know restaurants cook to al dente, but this was this was still a bit tougher than that. I also found it was very under sauced. The flavor was amazing, but definitely would benefit from more sauce being put on pasta dishes. Waitress was very kind to bring more sauce for me though! I’m sure both of these things were due to a very busy night.
Overall great night, hard to find an Italian restaurant that holds up to your standards when you are Italian yourself and they absolutely did great. Will definitely be back again 🙂 thanks guys!

I love a local spot, it was cozy (way too warm in there though) my friends gluten free butternut squash ravioli was great! I Had the home made gnocchi and it was a bit too mushy for me, the spicy peach cocktail was good but needs some work on garnishing. Service was very transactional and forgettable

EDITED – REMOVED ONE STAR FOR SERVICE – In reply to the restaurant’s reply below: We did not expect a table when reserving at the bar. Thus our requests to be moved. Honest communication that there would be no moving would be appreciated (so we can finish our drinks and eat elsewhere), instead of upselling more food or the creepy manager (?) coming up at the end of service to ‘joke’ “aren’t you glad we didn’t seat you at the table in back in this heat, hur hur.”
The pasta dishes were delicious. However, this did not compensate for the level of service provided. We reserved bar seats as we really wanted to check this place out after hearing many positive reviews about the food, and there were no other seats available. Upon seeing several tables that were finishing up, we asked four (4) different employees five (5) different times, whether it was possible to be moved to a table. All said they would check but did not. This was not due to any other reservations arriving, as we saw other tables that were seated after us be moved from tables in the back to the empty tables in the front of the restaurant.
To compound the negative experience, for unknown reasons, the restaurant kept all the doors and roll-up garage doors closed while there was an extreme heat warning, without any AC or fans running for air circulation. The temperature inside was at least 31 Celsius.
There are better restaurants to have pizza, such as Vespa Wine Bar, or drinks, such as Trio Lounge, a couple of doors down, both establishments with superior service and atmosphere. Will not be back.

Went to Fratelli’s to celebrate Christmas with my co-workers. The food was amazing. The service was fantastic. I had fried zucchini , chicken with vegetables and potatoes in a gorgonzola sauce. An espresso and a canoli. I waddled out of there but enjoyed every bite. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Italian cuisine.
