If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful halal food in Tampa, Mays Alreem USA Pita House is absolutely worth a visit. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, with a casual, no-frills setup that lets the food speak for itself. It’s the kind of place that feels rooted in tradition, where you can tell care and pride go into every dish that comes out of the kitchen.

I ordered the falafel sandwich with a side of fries, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The falafel was perfectly cooked—crispy and golden on the outside while remaining soft, moist, and packed with flavor on the inside. Each bite had a well-balanced blend of herbs and spices, giving it that authentic Middle Eastern taste without being overpowering. The falafel was tucked into a fresh, soft pita that held everything together beautifully without falling apart.

What really elevated the sandwich were the toppings and sauces. The vegetables tasted fresh and crisp, adding a nice contrast in texture, while the sauce brought everything together with a creamy, tangy richness that complemented the falafel perfectly. Every bite felt satisfying and well thought out, making it one of the better falafel sandwiches I’ve had in the area.

The fries were another pleasant surprise. They were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned—not greasy or bland like fries can sometimes be. They paired perfectly with the sandwich and made the meal feel complete. Simple, but done right.

Overall, Mays Alreem USA Pita House delivers delicious, high-quality halal food that feels both comforting and authentic. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot-on, and the overall experience left me wanting to come back and try more items on the menu. Whether you’re already a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking for a great halal spot in Tampa, this place is definitely one to add to your list. I’ll absolutely be returning.

Tried this spot based on a recommendation on Yelp and added it to my list immediately!
Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon—perfect timing since it wasn’t busy, so I had time to read through the menu and ask all my questions.

Ordered a beef shawarma (always my starting point), hummus side, and three falafels. The staff offered me a falafel while mine were freshly fried in the pot! The shawarma came wrapped in pita, and I got to pick from a ton of add-ons (see photo). The mix of salad, spicy sauce, beef, and hummus made for such a fresh and flavorful bite.

The restaurant has a few tables inside and even a sink for hand washing. By the time my food came out, more people had started arriving to order. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Will come back to try more dishes!

Mays Alreem is the best falafel you will get in Florida and the USA. If you want authentic Palestinian falafel (bc no one has better falafel than Palestine), this is your place. They are so hospitable, so kind and generous and the food is outrageously yummy. My parents travel just to come have breakfast here and my mom despises restaurants. Everyone they go, they are always greeted warmly. 10000/10

I’m sure they have great supporters however my 1st and sadly only experience here was so bad. They don’t even know what’s in their food. Everyone should be allowed to know what they are consuming if they have allergies or not. Since I do and since people keep demanding to put “msg” in food I’m certain I’m not the one 1 that cares. All restaurants should be required to put ingredients list available for all items.
