RI Food Fights “Taco Mania!” brought us here — and I’m so glad it did!
From the outside, La Lupita doesn’t look like much, but step inside and you’re greeted with a clean, spacious, and festive dining area that feels warm and welcoming.
The staff was friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, and they bring the food right to your table — quick and easy!
We tried the Grilled Steak and Carnitas Tacos, both authentic and absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on — fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned meat, and soft, flavorful tortillas.
We also each had a Horchata, which was fantastic — sweet, creamy, and perfectly spiced.
If you’re looking for real Mexican tacos in a relaxed, inviting spot, La Lupita Tacos Mexicanos is definitely worth a visit!

I eat at La Lupita at least once a week and sometimes twice. They are extremely efficient and friendly. The owners are usually there and they are very nice people with fantastic food! I would rather go here any day than any of the chain mexican places in Rhode Island. Great food, great people, great value!

Stopped in here for the first time tonight. Was helped by Ricardo, I wasn’t sure what I wanted and asked him for some suggestions. Not only was he super helpful but he was also really nice. Probably one of the nicest food service people I have encountered in a long time. I settled on 4 tacos, all of them were delicious and the portions were generous. Definitely not small street tacos. I thought the prices were fair as well. He also suggested I try the Olneyville Sunset (after making sure I like hibiscus) and it was perfect. Really complimented the food. The food came out really quick, you can see the kitchen when you walk in, it was clean and they were really busting their asses getting g food out. The salsa was great too, I will 100% be back. I also 100% suggest this place.

This is a super tasty Mexican spot over in Olneyville. We stopped by on a Thursday night and were able to grab a prime seat. We tried their queso Birria tacos (3 per order) and their UFO special with lamb barbacoa- both were DELICIOUS!

La Lupita is one of the best places in the West Side and Providence. Such a solid option!
They cook all of their meats perfectly in all of their meals. My go to generally is the gringa with steak in salsa verde. But, now they have the UFO/OVNI, which is a superior version of the crunchwrap supreme, and that is probably my favorite item in their menu.
Also, they get your order ready super fast, they have good prices, and their service is always polite.

This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered 3 tacos, a pulled chicken, a pulled pork, and a pulled pork with green Chile’s. I also ordered a pulled chicken Torta and a pulled pork huarache. Everything was very good. And it became even better when I added their green sauce. The only thing I would say is the pulled pork was not pulled but diced. Still very tasty. On a scale from 0-10 I would taste this 8.8.

Meat prices are up 30% since last year. Vegetable prices are up 15%, don’t be surprised if your Burritos are smaller. Portions at this restaurant have shrunk since last year. I would prefer higher prices vs smaller Burritos. But Mgmt has to choose effective prices for their market. If this works for them, than so be it. But portion sizes are noticeably smaller than 2024.

6/26/23– My friend Soyla stopped for her burritos . She wanted me to eat but I just couldn’t . I found parking along side the Main Street . It has been years since my last visit , and back then, I remember the tables being filthy . However, since it was a quiet Monday afternoon , and my friend really wanted burritos , we stopped here. My friend ordered her burritos and was served promptly . The wait for her order was short . The restaurant was adorned with vibrant colors and decorations creating a lively atmosphere. It was also spacious and a notable improvement was that I could see inside the kitchen (don’t recall if I did before ) it appeared cleaned . Based on yesterdays experience, I would recommend giving this place a try . The cashier lady was looking at me a little too much when I was taking pictures . It’s 2023 people do this now to leave reviews .

I remember when this place opened . I asked if there were same owners , the cashiers said yes .
There was pepper spray incident involving one my youngest stepson, he must of have been 11/12 years old . To this day my stepson is very embarrassed about it and doesn’t go there . He is now 34 years old . This place has just opened when this incident happened . I didn’t know where to hide myself . What an embarrassing moment .

The RI Food Dude
Very good burrito. I got a large burrito with Al pastor ($7.50). It was a nice size, tasty and well stuffed.
The side of red sauce was perfect to pour on top of each bite.
My criticism would be the pork itself. They were cut into tiny pieces and it wasn’t tender, on the chewy side.
Overall good and everything seems very affordable.

Authentic and mind blowingly delicious. We ordered the lamb and pork carnitas street tacos, street corn and chips and salsa. Everything was loaded with flavor and you can tell that they really care about the quality of their food. The customer service was outstanding and it’s such a good place for a quick bite to eat.
