My friend and I had an early dinner here before heading to the Harkins movie theater across the street (conveniently located). I would highly recommend making “Priority Seating Reservations” because at 5:30 PM, as early as that is on a Thursday evening the place was packed, both inside, bar area and patio area. It worked out perfectly, we were greeted and seating right away. The atmosphere was nice, casual, not an upscale place, more like nice family dining feel. Alec, our server was fantastic, very friendly and attentive.

We started off with cocktails, an Espresso Martini and beer while looking over the menu. We finally decided on the Hamachi Crudo, Baja Shrimp Cevichi, Clam Chowder and 1 Stone Crab Claw (which my friend had). All the food was presented well and tasted delicious. All the seafood was very fresh. It was a great place to pre-dine before heading to the movies.

Atmosphere: nice, casual, upbeat, family feel. Service: excellent. Food: very good.

This is an amazing restaurant with a great atmosphere, lovely service, and the best crab cakes!

We came twice this week—once for lunch and once for dinner—and both times it was packed with happy customers. During lunchtime, the average cost is about $30 per person, which is very reasonable for the quality and experience.

The oysters are also one of the highlights here—fresh and absolutely delicious. I love this place and will definitely come back again.

This place is fine. Wayyyyyyy OVERPRICED. Happy hour is only given to the bar!!
Service is fine hit hit as good as the local sports bar (zipps, tailgaters, etc.) food was fine. Waitress didn’t know anything about the menu or cocktail menu, happy hour is only for the bar area which was 5 feet from where we sat (same drinks and food for 25%-50+% off.
The bartenders need training bc they can’t make a martini! I know that’s unbelievable but I dare you to try them. Small portions that weren’t filling (entrees) and just a very underwhelming experience. The hostess, the waitress & food runner were very nice so we tipped them and rated the restaurant up for, but: the food was underwhelming, price was too much for the small portions, no specials and the location had no views / isn’t anything special. I wish we went to ocean prime. ‍♂️
Same exact oysters are at Whole Foods for $1 each in the same shopping center!! Unreal!

This was my first visit to Buck and Rider and I wasnt disappointed. This place was highly recommended and I see why. The cold bar was amazing, we had shrimp/oysters/scallops… those alone could have been the meal for the night. Stepped it up and ordered the Redfish (suggested by the waitress, she was right) that dish with the broccolini hut the spot…….. last thing was their famous crab cake, I don’t care what the price is, order it, no fillers just straight crab and the sauce is unreal…. I will definitely be coming back to this place

My family and I dined here tonight and had nothing short of an exceptional experience. Our server, Cameron, was absolutely outstanding—knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly personable. She offered excellent recommendations and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. Every dish and drink was executed perfectly, with remarkable attention to detail. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely be returning again and again.

What an amazing experience for my mom’s 85th birthday. The food, atmosphere and service was Five star across the board. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious and we will definitely be returning to this establishment. This place can compete with any of the top rated seafood houses in Scottsdale

The seafood here was excellent! I highly recommend the Florida pompano. And the lemon meringue pie is TO DIE FOR just be prepared for a wait because this place is popular, and be prepared not to be able to talk without shouting.

Out service person took great care of us and patiently answered all our questions. She is a reason to fo back. I thought the fish specials were just ok. The choiof included sauces made it better. Appetizers and desserts were awesome. Lemon meringue pie slice 6 inches tall!

So good – we went twice

I was lucky enough to go to Buck and Rider 2 times between the 6 nights.

We went with a group and the family style was NEXT LEVEL. It’s not easy to serve warm food in a family setting.

From the start with the appetizers all the way to the Ribeye + dessert, it was INSANE!

Then we went back – and the second time was amazing too!

The Buck and Rider oysters stole the show with the New York Strip a close second.

Sad to go, but I’m certain we’ll be back next time in PHX. Don’t wait though book your reservation asap!

We went with high expectations and the restaurant lived up to the hype. The fish is sourced fresh, and most of the dishes are well made. The restaurant is busy so make priority seating reservations. The oysters were excellent. The sushi rolls were great too. Perhaps a bit more variety for desserts otherwise a well run operation. Book with confidence.

A second visit and this was stellar. Great options for shareable plates and loved the service. Jake was outstanding.
