We stopped for the food, but unfortunately the order wasn’t correct.

I ordered a toasted turkey and Swiss sandwich and received ham with white American instead. I didn’t discover the mistake until I got home and opened the sandwich to prepare it for lunch. My daughter ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon and added sausage. She did receive the meats, but the cheese shown in the photo was missing.

The kitchen/food order staff was very friendly and professional, and the staff member double-checked our order several times for clarity. Unfortunately, despite that, the order was entered incorrectly in the system.

The cashier was brusque. An error was made and corrected, but there was no acknowledgment or communication to us. On a positive note, the bakery staff was fast and efficient.

I was hoping I’d found a small, yummy food stop for trips between Austin and Houston, but based on this visit, it doesn’t look like it will be

I travel all the time and I hit up all the common food places that I get used to seeing on their road, then I walk into this gas station with a McDonald’s on one side and this kolache place on the other and I give the kolache place a chance. Every single time I’m going to or from Houston or Austin, when I hit that hook in 290, I know I’m coming back for this place. Even if it’s just two kolaches, they are incredible and the bread is so mouth-watering. I have to say this place is awesome, I don’t pull over for fast food on this route anymore. Thank yall thank y’all!

I can and do bake my own kolaches (taught by Grandma) so buying from here should tell you something! I always stop here when I’m in the area.
They make a great kolache. I’ve enjoyed everything I have ever tried. My personal favorites are the poppyseed and cream cheese. I was excited to get a farmer’s cheese yesterday. I look forward to my next visit.

A lot of choices and they all taste so good(desserts kolaches, meat @ cheese and cinnamon rolls). Everytime I travel to Houston or Pensacola, I always make it a point to drop by this place and buy 3 to 5 bags of mixed kolaches here and have a hot coffee too. They are a perfect match. I love this place.

Pictures don’t do it justice. Cold and doughy. This is not the first time we’ve had a bad experience here. Will definitely be the last time.

My first visit was on Thursday afternoon, and although there was only one person working, she was super nice and super helpful. She made me a ham and provolone cheese wrap with all the veggies, heavy onions, heavy mayo, heck I ain’t kissing on anyone so why not! That wrap was so good! I came too late to get any of their signature Kolaches but I was able to get three cowboy cookies, a lemon square, banana walnut bread, apricot bread, and a German chocolate cake… don’t talk about me being a big back! Everything was phenomenal! Passing back through I did have a cheesecake Kolache, an apricot Kolache, and a ham and cheese Kolache. OMG! They all were so good. Lastly, I stocked up on their canned goods. I got me some canned peaches, canned okra, canned squash, canned quail eggs, and some hot chow chow. If the end of times are amongst us, I wanna go back in stock up on more of their canned goods! I haven’t eaten them yet, but they look amazing! I will be back!

During our drive to Austin, we took a quick break and stumbled upon this fantastic spot. The atmosphere is cozy and hospitable, instantly making you feel at home. The food is fresh, delicious, and prepared with a personal touch. If you’re in the area, stop by for breakfast and grab some of their freshly baked goodies to take with you.

Amazing authentic Czech kolaches! Stopped here for gas and was pleasantly surprised by Weikel’s Bakery. Great selection, super delicious, made fresh, friendly staff, and great price. If you see Exxon / McDonald’s in Brenham, head to Weikel’s FIRST! You won’t regret it.

We were on our way back from Austin and nature called. I am so glad this is where we chose to stop. Not only were the kolaches, great but Andrea provided amazing customer service. She was sweet, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I left with too many kolaches, some cherry shortbread, and a smile on my face. When people enjoy their job, it shows and it was evident that Andrea enjoys what she does. I will definitely be back! Thanks again for all your help Andrea!
