This was a date night dinner. We reserved a table ahead, and I would definitely recommend that. It gets busy quickly. I have been wanting to try Japanese Waygu for a while and thats what I ordered. Our waiter was excellent. He was able to help me select a wine that would pair well with my dinner. I would just next time tell them I will cut my own steak as I am a slower eater and I found my steak was cooling quickly when it arrived at the table. My husband had the big Ben filet and it has a great flavor. I added sea scallops to my dinner and they was cooked to perfection. My steak was wonderful, good flavor and melted in my mouth. I did the filet also only Waygu. We will definitely return, they have a wonderful selection of dinners.

First time at Hyde Park for my birthday dinner . We seated in a booth per our request upon arriving. Our servers Logan and John were both amazing, very attentive with great interpersonal skills. Our meal began with the calamari which was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was crispy, fresh and had a unique Asian flair to the dish. Next, we had a Caesar salad that had great tasting dressing and croutons. Our main dishes consisted of the Steak Malkin Ribeye, Hines Ward filet cooked medium rare and the garlic whipped potatoes. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were creamy and delicious. For dessert, we ordered the butter cake and given a birthday dessert as well. During our meal, we had a visit from one of the managers, Kylie who welcomed us and took the time to talk to us a few minutes. This was a great dining experience and will make this my steakhouse for all occasions.

I went during restaurant week which also landed on my birthday week. The food was really good & fresh. It was cute that they printed happy birthday on menu along with a card. it was $45 for a 3 course meal. I enhanced my steak for $15 to a 14 oz NY strip (from a 6oz sirloin) Steak was cooked perfectly, lobster bisque was tasty with a good amount lobster. Mashed potatoes & onion straws were also delicious. I also got the classic old fashion which was actually good. They are usually hit or miss.

Excellent service from start to finish. My wife and I started at the bar with a cocktail. By the way, they have a really good happy hour. I believe it’s from 4:30 to 6:00? You will have to double check. But there’s some nice options on there including drinks. We then went to our table and had the beef carpaccio for an appetizer. It was excellent! We then had the lobster bisque which again was excellent! And I had a wedge salad which I really enjoyed. My wife got the Big Ben which is a filet mignon and I got the Mario lemieux which is a New York strip with roasted garlic, cloves and mushrooms over top of it. Was outstanding. We just got one shareable side and it was the creamed corn and it was so good. Our servers were Becky and Cindy and they were so nice and personable. I would highly recommend asking for them if you call to make a reservation. Jeffrey, the manager was nice too as he came around to check on you. It’s a high-end place and is expensive and for that reason everything has to be on point in my opinion. Everything was on point and was worth the money for our special occasion which we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We have experienced most of the other high-end steak restaurants in Pittsburgh and we still think Hyde Park is a step above. Now that’s just my opinion. So please if there’s anybody out there reading this that has another steakhouse that is their favorite I understand. It’s not like I’m going to one of these every weekend lol. But the handful of times that we’ve experienced other ones. They’ve been good but it always seems like Hyde Park just nails it.

We recently had dinner at hyde Park and it was such a great night..The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with soft lighting and friendly staff!! but the service was really poor! We had to wait for a good 30 minutes or more for the waitress to come and take our orders after she sat us down at our table! They took long for the drinks to come and even longer for the food! The stuff didn’t seem attentive to us! For that we wouldn’t recommend!

Hyde Park Restaurant, Pittsburgh, is phenomenally an excellent, over-the-top restaurant that is located on the North Shore, walking distance from the downtown. It was selected by our group because of its exceptionalism in quality and service along with its accommodations for outdoor dining, even though we sat indoors due to inclement weather.

Our waiter, Josh, and waitress, Heather, were exceptional, professional, knowledgeable, so very friendly, accommodating, attentive, patient, understanding, courteous, gracious and thoughtful. The bartender that serviced us at the bar with cocktails before dinner is equally professional, courteous and kind.

Each dish was perfect. Superb, well prepared, and presented artfully and in extraordinary good taste.

The ambience of the Hyde Park Restaurant is calming, comfortable, relaxing surrounded by impeccably decorated artwork and furnishings with the greatest of taste.

There is also a table near our table that appears to be designed similarly to the famous private dining table that appeared in “Hello Dolly” with elegant draperies that enclose the guests and table for a private dining experience.

Our sincere gratitude, appreciation and thankfulness to the owner, chief, Josh our waiter and Heather our waitress, as well as other staff members, all of whom deserve the best of comments from all customers who know the value and are able to appreciate the quality of the services the Staff provides at a level that is truly above and beyond the best of restaurants with exceptionally prepared drinks including Old Fashion Smoked Bourbon, appetizers and entrees.

Our sincerest and genuine thanks.

We look forward to being repeating customers and hope everyone reading this will go. Go!

Hyde Park Restaurant is indeed beyond the best of the best.

Firstly. I do know its my fault for going after a Steelers game.

My wife wanted to come here for her birthday. She was super excited. But neither of us had actually knew anyone that had been here. We also didnt think such a fancy/expensive restaurant would be packed after a game. To our surprise. Again. Not the restaurants fault.

Service was… okay.
I had the Jimmy Sacco Steak. It was good. Great flavor. It wasn’t cooked perfectly to Medium but it was more on the rare side which is better than being cooked well. Suprising it wasn’t cooked perfect.

My wife had the Bone in Ribeye. Hers was cooked perfectly medium.

The Gratin Potatoes were fantastic.
The lobster Mac n cheese was good.
The lobster “escargo” appetizer was pretty cool.

The food was like 7/10
The service was 7/10. The service was better when they were busy than when it got slower.

Long story short. And I hate to say this. But next time ill just go back to Ruth’s Chris.

Went here for Pittsburgh restaurant week. The valet parking stuff was very friendly. Salad was also pretty good.
I ordered the $15 NY strip upgrade. The crust was pretty good with little to no grey band. But the NY strip does not come with a fat cap which is not what I expected, and pretty chewy. I know I shouldn’t complain because it’s strip not filets but I kinda regret for getting this upgrade.
The dessert is too sweet. Overall it’s decent but can still be better.

My wife and I had an amazing Valentine’s dinner here. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic. Personally, I’m not a big fan of steak in general, but went for the a5 wagyu filet. I have ZERO regrets, it was possibly the best meal I’ve had in my life! Don’t question whether it’s worth it or not, just go for it

I don’t know if reservations are required, but I would recommend it

We LOVED visiting here for restaurant week! The food was 10/10, cocktails and wine menu were wonderful, and Josh and Mel were excellent servers! We never had an empty glass and they were incredibly kind each time they stopped by. We will definitely be back!
