I hadn’t eaten here in decades. We were able to get seated on a busy week day at noon. The place is clean with good service and great food. The only downside was I could only choose one meal. Will definitely be back.

Sat & Sun Breakfast until 1130, lunch 1130-7 sat & sun. Lunch M-F 11-7. Awesome place. Only down side is sun is glaring inside the big windows until 1 pm or so. Very blinding. Only 6 booth tables and 14 barstools. Very small cozy restaurant. White or wheat toast! French toast was delicious. Omelet was large and in charge! They were out of coke on Jan 18, 2026! Outdoor seating is available during warmer months but it’s right in the road with no protection. Lots of ice cream options.

I visited Cliffside Diner with a group of friends for breakfast, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, like a classic local spot where everyone knows your name. Our group ordered a mix of breakfast favorites, and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed, even with our larger group.

If you love delicious comfort food and a cozy, down-to-earth diner vibe, Cliffside Diner is absolutely worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Small hole in the wall joint. I was blessed to find out about this place from our tour guide at Buffalo Trace. The menu is simple, the place is small, the staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic. If you are in the area and want a burger, this is the spot. It has a nice view of the beautiful Kentucky river.

Stopped by on a whim at the suggestion of Grok in my Tesla. Glad I listened and pulled off the highway to experience this great little diner on the banks of the Kentucky River. Small old school diner with outstanding selection of comfort food. I chose an old school fried bologna sandwich with really good fries and a side of classic cucumber salad. Outstanding! Price was fair, but I was surprised by an added 4% convenience tax on top of the 6% state tax. Other than that, this is a great stop.

This was our first visit. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. We had a party of 4 and had no trouble being seated. The food was made fresh too order and required a bit of a wait, but was totally worth it. Three of us ordered the Hot Brown and one order was pork chops. We were not disappointed with the taste, portion size, or cost. We ordered a slice of coconut pie for dessert that we thoroughly enjoyed. We are already planning a return trip.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cliffside Diner – Frankfort, KY

Rhonda and I stopped in at Cliffside Diner, and it absolutely hit the spot. She had the classic cheeseburger, and I went for the western burger — both were perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were exactly how you want them: crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right.

The atmosphere has that cozy, old-school diner charm that makes you feel right at home the minute you walk in. The place sits right along the hillside with a view that lives up to the name “Cliffside,” and there’s a relaxed hometown vibe — friendly staff, the sizzle of the grill, and a steady hum of good conversation in the background. You can tell it’s the kind of spot locals love and travelers remember.

If you’re anywhere near Frankfort, Cliffside Diner is a must-stop for great food, warm service, and that genuine Kentucky comfort you can’t fake.

Great little diner with good food and good service. Reasonable prices. Charming location. I wanted to eat outside but it was raining.
We didn’t have time for dessert but would have definitely ordered pie. The ones passing our table looked delicious.
