Love it yummm! I had the hamburger with everything on it, including cold slaw and the chips and my sister had the hot dog with the fries. I ordered 2 all vegetable plates to go and yeah the coconut cream pie everything it looked so good. I had to taste a little bit of all of it. So we will be eating it for the next few days at dinner time.!

Al’s Diner is a sweet place to grab breakfast. Dana served me right away and was pleasant. I’m also grateful to the staff who asked me if I left my to go box on the table!
I’ll be back.

I’m new to the area and had an opportunity to have lunch with some awesome partners in the community. The atmosphere is quaint and the service is top tier. I had the smothered chicken, fried squash and collards. Man…. Everything was amazing. And the sweet tea I will certainly be back. Plus, I think that Big Al’s Carolina Burger is calling my name. And I’m sure ‘nough gonna answer the call. No pictures this time. But it’s okay. Just go.

Sawmill Gravy covering a country fried steak atop a biscuit. Order from the drive through or come in and stay a while. Coffee helps the morning along. How much easier could a slow morning go in a nice diner? A short walk from the library. It doesn’t need it, but I added a pinch of salt. Many things bad for the heart are good for the soul.

Classic diner atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Very reasonable prices. My favorite is the Carolina Omlet- flavorfil and filling. Try the sunflower toast. Excellent coffee! You cannot go wrong! My all-time favorite diner!

Today I ate one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had…the Grilled Gobbler. I like sandwiches, so I’ve tried a lot of them and I don’t use the term “best” lightly. It was my first time going to Al’s and I looked the menu up online, so I knew I was going to order the Gobbler before I arrived. The woman at the window was very nice and my food came out quickly, despite the parking lot being full. After I got home, I knew with the first bite that this was going to be an amazing sandwich! The sunflower bread was grilled perfectly, the ratio of turkey to veggies (lettuce, tomato, and onion) was spot on, with just the right amount of mayo. The sandwich is good-sized, so I ate half for lunch and the other half (cold) for dinner. I wasn’t disappointed with the second half…just as flavorful, maybe even a little more so.
If you haven’t tried one, I highly recommend. Al’s will definitely be seeing more of me!

I’ve been wanting to try Al’s for a while and on our way home from another destination we have it a try.

We got seated quickly, but unfortunately just missed the breakfast cut off. Oh, well, there were plenty of choices for lunch so looked it over.

I got a vegetable plate. My choices were baked beans, which didn’t seemed baked at all, just warmed up out of a can, boiled cabbage that could have cooked longer since it was still quite hard, a potato casserole that was so-so, and a roll that was just okay. Honestly, the whole place was kind of disappointing.

My spouse had the seafood plate and enjoyed the shrimp and hush puppies, loved the green beans, and thought the cabbage was okay. Suffice to say, she faked better than me.

The demeanor of the wait staff was half and half. Two of them were really nice and pleasant and the other two were pretty grumpy.

The decor was quite with lots of tin signs of food products.

Overall for my food choice was a letdown. Price wise it was good. Too be honest, if I’m in the town again I might give it another try, but S&T is a big draw me for their friendliness, food choices that always hit the mark, and the great ice cream concoctions.

What a fantastic little diner. I randomly drove by and stopped for lunch. I’m so glad I did! My cheese steak and fries were amazing! Everything was well seasoned and the staff were super friendly and polite. If I’m ever nearby I will always want to come here.

This is an old fashion type diner that has amazing choices for main dishes. You will be very happy with whatever you choose as it tastes like it was homemade by someone who knows how to cook. Most choices involved picking your main course and then choosing two sides. There must have been twenty side items to choose from. I’m not sure how it’s possible to do what they do, but it’s a great place and we will definitely go back.
