Great place to eat downtown! We had a custom burger, the chicken quesadilla (1/2 eaten in photo), and the fried zucchini fries (ate so fast didn’t get a photo); all of which were excellent. They have plenty of TVs in the back and at the bar for the games too!

Nice place to grab a meal and some drinks. Hannah was a fantastic waitress that provided some great recommendations including my chicken sandwich with Sweet Thai Chili sauce and pepper jack cheese. We also ordered the Philly and Gyro based on her recommendations which did not disappoint at all. Drinks were strong and the vibe was perfect for an early dinner experience before the trivia night crowd filled in the place.

The Antipasto Egg Rolls we ordered as an appetizer was very tasty as well.

Overall a great first experience there and we’ll be back.

We didn’t really care for the atmosphere, but the server hit it out of the park. The food was hit or miss and mostly bar food. We had an appetizer that was some type of eggroll thing that was really really good. The Cuban sandwich and french fries were just OK and the chicken wings were just OK. And the Keylime pie was terrible. There was a really loud drunk lady at the bar. Very annoying.

Been wanting to go to The Place for some time. Last night was the night. Downtown Panama City has decided to totally rip up Harrison Street for beautification. It will be beautiful eventually but for now. Where to park???? Behind the building there is a parking lot and you can enter the back door via a stair case. No problem for our group

One of the reasons I wanted to go to The Place is because their menu covers a plethora of cuisines. Burgers, Wings. Salads, Pizza, some Cajun and seafood choices. It’s a long narrow restaurant that is more sports bar towards the back and casual dining in the front. We liked the vibe and we felt welcomed.

I went with a great friend and we did more talking and drinking and just grabbing bites.
We highly recommend the zucchini fries. If y’all are a one app kind of people that order is huge. We couldn’t decide on the sauce we wanted so they brought us several. You can also get the zucchini fries as a side.

I had read about the antipasto egg rolls and they had intrigued me. YUM! I’m one of the rare people that if not considered completely wrong I will eat dessert before my entree. And I don’t always order dessert but the chocolate dipped key lime pie… had me thinking Key West. And it was really good. I don’t often order Key lime pie because if I want key lime pie I will go to Winn Dixie and get the Mikes key lime pie. Save a few bucks It was all about the chocolate and key lime. So good. We did end up ordering the Cuban and splitting that. By the time we made that decision I was full and not into taking photos. Usually, I get the servers name but again I was off my game last night but I did get his photo when I was taking a photo of the overhead sign. He was wonderful and funny and engaging and perfect timing. I think we’re best friends now hahaha.

The Cuban was good. Actually dang good. I may have had better at some time in my life but definitely better than some

Mostly local clientele for you wanting to find somewhere the locals go. There were families eating, business people, sea captains and groups of girls or guys

10/10 will go again.

Our server Becky was outstanding. Attentive to every need of our table. The price of the food was very reasonable which was nice to see for the area. I am however very surprised to see such high reviews here considering the sub standard food quality. I ordered the chicken salad based on my servers recommendation. Wife ordered a burger with the Mac and cheese bites. The chicken salad sandwich was unfortunately very underwhelming. The chicken salad was lacking depth of flavor and texture. Throw some nuts in there or apples or craisins. Just a simple touch of freshness and texture would make a huge difference. Overall it was just bland. Luckily the garlic toast it comes gave it some flavor. Fries are not homemade. Just your standard frozen fries. Burger was overcooked and dry. A really sad bone dry patty that had to be covered in sauce to have some moisture. Mac and cheese bites also not homemade, nothing special about them. Mostly bland but the ranch helped. For having such a prime location and a pretty-looking exterior/interior it’s unfortunate to see that there isn’t a higher standard for the food quality here. People seem to love it here based on the ratings, but I was FAR from impressed. I hope we just had an odd experience tonight. Based on that experience, though, we will probably never return to spend our money here.

I’ve had Reuben sandwiches and cheese steak subs before but nothing else I’ve ever eaten compares to these two options at The Place Downtown! Outstanding! Mickey our server was fantastic! It was kinda busy and she was on it! Sweet, kind and very attentive to us without hovering! We will be back soon!! ♥️♥️♥️
