Finally after eating at so many restaurants in Lisbon I got to experience normal, home cooked Indian food!
Not oily, not full of cream, not heavy – just light, healthy and full of taste. Come here for an authentic home style Indian experience. The canteen has a relaxed atmosphere and everyone is welcome!

Vegan dishes available, many prepared with spices that give the food an incredible flavour. Welcoming and pleasant place even in a room without windows. It can get noisy with more people.

Tasty meal.
Great ambience.
Could have been better if there was the desert and starter included on the meal with the price charged for.

or more varity in dishes for vegetarian options.

To the higher price for the food being offered.

This temple has a lunch buffet for €9 and dinner buffet for €11. We arrived at 1pm on Saturday and they kept refilling everything with fresh food. They had chapati, banana curry, dhal, rice, salad and potato curry but the menu rotates daily. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of space to sit!

TLDR: I definitely recommend a visit for an authentic indian culinary experience!

As a fan of indian food who lived in India for several months, I can say it was an exceptional experience. From the first bite of samosas to the last spoon of kulfi, every dish was delicious and tasted authentic.

Beyond the food, the staff’s kindness enhanced the overall experience. They were attentive, welcoming and made us feel at home.

Adding to the tasty food and attentive people, the meal was very reasonably priced.

Excellent, fresh-made vegetarian food (buffet style) with lentils (Daal), vegetarian curries, basic salad, rice, chapati/rotis, and optional desserts. Down to earth goodness.

The Cantina is well named. Self Service with a reduced number of well made dishes. The service is friendly and always present to provide us information on dishes.
Thank you for having received us so warmly.

Yesterday I brought 1 kg jilebi From you, normally I love your jilebi but this time very worst taste, I don’t know what happened. I think you used old flour or something like that. Taste is horrible and no one like in my family.

Really authentic indian veg food. Meal as in an Indian home – albeit different level of spices and hotness. Buffet with at least 2 veg curries, dal, chapptis (Rotis), rice, mango pickels, 2 Chutney, choice of bajyas, dokrars, papodams and lassi. Personally, I did Not want for more.
All at €10.00 only. Wow.
Although, lots more available as side order at extra cost.
At checkout lots of authentic indian pre packed nik naks to purchase.
Cantina is in the basement of the Hindu Temple,
alongside the underground car park.
Only 4 * rating as no windows but nonetheless very vibrant with a good number of Portugues clients at our dinner and few Indians with bindi that added to the charm.
