My husband and I traveled 2 hours to have breakfast here. Of course, we had other reasons for coming besides breakfast, but our home town is sorely lacking in good breakfast locales, so I am always excited at the prospect of a homemade-style breakfast that I don’t have to make myself. Mary’s did not disappoint! Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Very rarely do I find a place that cooks bacon the exact way I like it, and Mary’s was spot on! My husband enjoyed his corned beef hash and my French toast was perfectly light and fluffy. Service was fantastic and I love the license plates on the walls! We will definitely be coming back any time we are in the area.

Stopped in here for breakfast with my nephew today. It’s located in a strip center but when you walk in it’s a rusty atmosphere very cozy. The service is great as was our omelets and biscuits and gravy. I travel a lot on mostly back roads and it’s always these little Mom and Pops that have the best food. If you’re in the area I suggest stopping by and grabbing a bite to eat, but before 2:00. Very reasonable prices. I heard they get busy on the weekends though so come early. However if you have to wait it’s worth it. They know almost all their customers by name and what they will order. The vibe in here is so relaxing and inviting. There are great little signs hung all over the walls that will definitely make you smile.
The smell of the biscuits baking is wonderful! If you want a home-cooked meal, like grandma made, then stop here. 3rd visit for me in as many months

We are so excited to find such a cozy place that feels like home. The food was delicious and everything was made perfectly. Our server Lori (Laurie? ) was professional, efficient, but most of all kind and friendly. We will be back soon, and will be bringing the family with us! The pancakes!!!

Mary’s Southern Grill is much cuter inside than you can tell from the photos of it. There are license plates on one wall from all 50 states, and art and plaques with funny sayings on the others. The food was delicious and the service prompt. We tried a pancake, some eggs, biscuit, grits and bacon. Our waitress didn’t get everything we needed – I asked for the bacon to be cooked crisp and it wasn’t, and then we asked for butter and syrup snd she never came back with those – but we were told when we asked to be satisfied in the more crowded back room that we wouldn’t be with the “best” waitress, who was serving in the front room. We were camping in Hiawassee and it was well worth driving to Young Harris to eat breakfast at Mary’s. We would definitely come back.

Helloooo Mary! My goodness gracious it’s hard to find a good southern cooking restaurant these days but Mary’s checked all the boxes from the sweet tea, food and environment. Not to mention it’s snuggled in the valley of the beautiful mountains of Young Harris. I learned about Mary’s from my nephew who graduated from YHC and swears by their $1 pancakes. But I visited with my mama and sister for lunch. I enjoyed the fried catfish strips, my sister had the grilled ham and my mama the fried chicken. Our plates were licked clean and I’m planning another visit to the area just so I can eat here. They used to take cash only but have recently started taking credit cards so come hungry and eat big – they are 5 ⭐️ in this country girls book.

The waitress brought our food; never returned. Was at the bar flirting with a group of older men. We had to flag her down for refill on tea. The Chicken and Dumplings had way too much pepper! It had two (2) dumplings. The chicken was less than a tablespoon of very shredded chicken. When we went to pay, the same waitress was still at the bar flirting with the men. After waiting to pay for about 5 minutes, flirty gal finally noticed we were standing at the register.
The potato salad was similar to mashed potatoes with a few lumps in it and lots of dill. Very bad experience for first time at the restaurant. Did not live up to posts read on line. The flirty waitress was young, blond and wore a dark hoodie, who was much too interested in the men at the bar than two ladies who lunch.

Catfish strips are great. Service was attentive. Ice tea was refilled before it was empty. A lot of fun decor.

This place continues to go downhill every time I try to give it another chance. The service is horrendous. Servers screaming at eachother and cussing. All you can smell throughout the restaurant is marijuana from the kitchen. The food is never correct. I have no idea how this place is even still open.
