So I drove to Brookhaven to try the buffet and some off the menu items. When we arrived the restraunt was filled with riff raff and there was someone down on their face getting arrested outside the front door. I or anyone that I know will not be going here to eat anytime soon. Good thing Brookhaven has many other choices. Bad first impression.

We’ve been at Pappas several times lately. It’s changed and it’s going downhill that particular day. There was only two meats chicken that they always have and is really good but not enough to serve all the people in the building and a chicken fried steak. That was all right. The rest are fillers and desserts fruit bar. Nothing to write home about dessert bar. It’s always good salads in a big selection. It was great too. Hopefully they’ll pick back up and put it away. It used to be. We’ll try again in a month or two.. So don’t be disappointed if you go and don’t like it. You did give it a try and tell them Y’all was not satisfied.

This place came highly recommended by my work colleagues who live in the area. The buffet was massive and had a huge selection of Southern comfort food. Practically every single thing you could ever imagine from the Southern cuisine was on the buffet. The prices are very reasonable too.

This was our first time coming, the food was warm and not hot. My only complaint and regret was that I looked online at the buffet pictures and saw crab legs and to be told that we had to pay another $18.99 on top of $22.98 for the buffet was very heart breaking. We spent roughly $58 just to eat food that I could have brought from the grocery store and stayed home. Furthermore, my daughter paid $43 for her and her 6 year old son to eat, $10 is too much for the kids seafood buffet and no crab legs or crawfish was put out without paying another extra charge to get those items, I’m very DISAPPOINTED BY THIS FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE AND I WISH I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK OR ATLEAST GET A COMPLIMENTARY CRAB LEGS MEAL TO CHANGE MY DECISION IN THE FUTURE. Finally, we drove almost 2 hours from Vidalia Louisiana and it wasn’t even worth the trip, so we basically spent almost $200 just to be DISAPPOINTED BY THE FOOF PUT OUT ON THE LINE. WHEN YOU SAY A SEAFOOD BUFFET IS OPEN, THEN IT SHOULD INCLUDE CRAB LEGS AS WELL.

I am glad when I happen upon OMG Restaurants. Going to Brookhaven on SUNDAY After church on another matter, I wanted to eat at a BUFFET if there was one. I was told to go to ” Poppa’s Buffet & Grill “.
☆WHAT A UNEXPECTED PLEASURE ! I Arrived at 12:50 and people were hurriedly heading to the front door and I quickly saw why. As soon as I walked in, there was a room FULL of people WAITING to be seated. My heart sank as I was NOT up to waiting a hour for a table. When I asked how long the wait would be, she looked down at her list of names and said: ” 20 minutes “. So As I gave her my name, a man stood up beside me and was led away. I sat down but I waited no more than 15 minutes before my name was called.
THIS IS WHY ” Poppa’s Buffet ” is a MUST TRY. ♡Do you LOVE CASSEROLES ?☆ THEIR MENU IS HOME FAVORITES – not Corporate profit items. LOCAL & REGIONAL FOODS we grew up eating ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS. ie ♡ sweet potato casserole, rice & broccoli casserole, potato casserole, macaroni and cheese. Rib’s & sausage and more, Much MORE !!! ■ Their DESSERTS ARE to die for. VAST assortment of PIES. FRUITS, ambrosia and sweets that you can’t get enough of. ● MY PHOTOS DIDN’T GET > HALF < of what they serve.
Check for hours bc I was told they Close at 2:30pm on Sunday. They have the buffet everyday and it is JUST AS GOOD during the week as it is on Sunday. [ I returned on a Wednesday ]. BUT THIS IS MY NEW, GO-TO PLACE For Buffet Dining.

OMG! Traveling between Memphis and New Orleans and stumbled across this gem (Poppa’s Buffet & Grill in Brookhaven, MS) because our usual stopping place for lunch in McComb isn’t open on Tuesdays.
There are so many choices from chicken livers to spaghetti to beans cooked 5 different ways!
My favorites were the fried chicken and yellow squash. Lots of gorgeous desserts—coconut cake just melted in my mouth. The place is huge and even though it had so many people, there was no line. The locals know there is a take out option.
WE WILL BE BACK!

Beautiful selections, the fish was a little salty for me but there was so much to choose from that was awesome I ate plenty. The place was packed so it was hard to get refills on drinks but the staff was friendly.
It was worth the money!

We stopped on our way home from New Orleans for lunch. Everything was so good, but I can’t get that potato casserole out of my mind. Go hungry, there’s tons of desserts and a huge salad bar in addition to all the delicious mains and sides.
