Great food amazing service – the chicken just slide right off the bone … as another patron kindly suggested to me, try the stew, and I did. I suggest you too as well. Nice old-fashioned music plays overhead, and I loved it. So, a sink located on the side of the restaurant floor, how neat is that … that tickled my fancy. I had to use that sink after eating my food, and I did! I recommend this Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q … and probably any other of the apprx 20 northwest NC locations will do at that!

Food was delicious and incredibly generous for the price, but even more than that the service was absolutely wonderful! The woman taking our lunch order today and the man working dining room were both incredibly friendly and patient with us as we figured out the menu. The restaurant is clean, food fresh, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Wasn’t sure to expect from this place as didn’t know it was fast food style. However, I can say I was pleasantly surprised. The bone in chicken was excellent and much better than the tenders. But the real charm of this place is the amazing staff and their service. We were waited in by 4 separate people with each being top notch. Checking in at the table, getting refills and just overall being extremely nice and attentive. Their service makes Chik-Fil-A look average, and that’s saying something.

My first time eating at this location. Let me tell the chicken is a 10 out of 10. Hot Fresh and Crispy. So hot had to pull over to eat it! And their hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had. They are sweet abd and savory. They sprinkle them with some kind of magic dust. But they’re addictive. I drove from another city just to get a box. My daughter had the Brunswick stew and she gave it 5 stars. I dont think you can go wrong with anything on the menu! My new chicken stop!

This morning, my husband was singing the Johnny Cash song, Sunday Morning Coming Down. There’s a line that talks about “the Sunday smell of someone fryin chicken”. So naturally, I needed fried chicken, but I didn’t want to do “the fryin”. Through a search, he found Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q. The prices are so reasonable for the massive amount of food you get. The HUGE chicken tenders are juicy, they have great flavor and the breading is like Granny’s without killing the roof of your mouth. The baked beans actually have a little pulled pork in them and the sauce was fantastic. The hush puppies were golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender and light on the inside. The white coleslaw was the perfect balance of vinegar and sweet, a little mayo, it had no onions or carrots (Yay!) and was fresh and crunchy. The BBQ was pulled and really flavorful, even without extra sauce. They allow you to choose your sides. We had enough leftover for my full dinner tonight and enough to share with our friend. He also loved it and plans to take his son this week. We also got banana pudding to go YUMMY.
-You order at the counter but then they bring your food to the table and actually hand it out. They checked on us twice and will refill your drink. They even brought us To Go boxes and wrapped plasticware.
-They have a Health score of 98 and they are earning that. The restaurant and bathrooms are VERY clean.
-The women’s bathroom has a light switch that says TURN ON IF BATHROOM NEEDS SERVICE. That is an ingenious and convenient way for them to monitor.
-You know how the people running the cash registers, will stand with their back to the customer, while they stare through to the kitchen? That’s pretty common to fast food places. This restaurant has a sign posted for the workers that says TURN AROUND. I love that!
-Every person inside was friendly, helpful and efficient.

This place has some excellent fried Chicken. But I got the combo plate that also included barbecue, which is eastern North Carolina whole hog bbq. Also had the Brunswick stew which was pretty good. I think this place gets a pretty bad rap but I think food is good.

My parents are elderly so I try to provide meals for them as much as possible since getting around in the kitchen is difficult for them. They for chicken from this establishment that was poor quality. Mom said it looked amd tasted burnt, as if it has been re-cooked or cooked in old grease. Mom called to make them aware of this and the person that answered the phone rudely told her “well next time don’t order chicken”. I just found out about this yesterday. Totally unacceptable. A simple “thanks for letting us know” would have sufficed.
