The warm hospitable vibe met us at the door. My party of five was treated like celebrities from start to finish. And the food?!! OMG it was simply divine. Tender oxtails, flavorful rice and peas, crisp, sweet plantains, and steamed cabbage like granny alone can make!!

A True Caribbean Culinary Gem!
Lorna’s Caribbean Restaurant in Miami Gardens exceeded every expectation! From the first bite to the last, every dish was packed with bold island flavor and pure comfort. The catfish and grits were silky, seasoned to perfection, and had that soulful, home-cooked warmth that makes you close your eyes and savor. The coconut shrimp was golden, crisp on the outside and tender inside — with just the right touch of sweetness from that coconut crust. And the cracked conch? Absolutely divine — buttery, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Each plate tasted like it was made with love and tradition, and the portions were generous without losing that touch of finesse. The service matched the food — warm, welcoming, and full of true Miami hospitality.

10 out of 10 — I’m already planning my next visit to dive into the dishes I missed. If you crave authentic Caribbean & American comfort food with unforgettable flavor, this is the spot. ️

Great experience, welcomed upon entry and seated promptly. Drinks came out quickly and staff was professional and friendly. Happy Hour appetizers were tasty. The dinner, Oxtails, Rice and Steamed Cabbage was very good. I believe it was $27. Portions were fair. My only issue was cornbread is only served only on weekends, as well as Collard Greens. The atmosphere was nice and the space was beautifully upgraded since my last visit. All in all it was a great dining experience.

The cracked conch was soft and buttery! I really enjoyed it. I would pass on the island snapper filet as I didn’t feel it was seasoned, but the Mac n cheese and rice and peas were yummy. I would come again.

I recently hosted a brunch for my coworkers at Lorna’s restaurant on February 28th, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience! Jamie was our server, and he truly went above and beyond. He remembered everyone’s names, which made us all feel valued and appreciated. We hardly had to look for him; he was always nearby, checking in to see if we needed anything.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the level of service from Jamie was phenomenal! It was clear that everyone at the restaurant works well together and supports one another, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

We enjoyed the experience so much that we’re already planning to return for my birthday in March. Lorna’s has quickly become our go-to place, thanks to the great food and positive vibes. Everything and everyone was incredibly nice and helpful, but fingers crossed we get Jamie again for our next visit!

Some of the best Caribbean food you’ll grab in the area. It’s not your typical Jamaican restaurant, this place is a nice more upscale dining. They have great live entertainment on Tuesday’s for adults but normal business hours kids are welcomed. The food does take some time to come out because it’s usually packed and food is cooked to order for the most part. Full bar is available as well. Definitely recommend checking them out.

As someone who truly values giving credit where it’s due, I have to say this restaurant did not disappoint. I’m a foodie and very particular about my food, and I was pleased with what I experienced here. I tried the Escovitch Snapper, which was perfectly seasoned, and I substituted my sides (coleslaw and french fries) for rice and peas and Mac n cheese — both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the red velvet cake, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. This place has been on my list for quite some time, and I’m so glad I finally got to check it off and a special shout-out to the bartender, John. He was very nice and accommodating!

I would also note that I’d recommend keeping an eye on the bathrooms, as one of the stalls didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of cleanliness and the restroom was my first stop before I sat down to dine in. I’m glad I decided to stay however because the rest of the restaurant didn’t reflect that issue.

Looking forward to visiting again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 — Excellence, every single time.

Lorner’s Caribbean & Grill is the kind of place that reminds you how good food is supposed to taste. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is right, great music, warm energy, and an atmosphere that feels like home amongst immediate family.

Let’s talk about the food because whew… The conch soup is hands-down one of my favorites: rich, flavorful, and made with care. The conch tacos, The oxtails are tender, seasoned to perfection, and paired with rice and peas that do not miss. Every bite tells a story, and it’s a good one.

The drinks are on point, the service is top-tier, and the staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed not rushed, not overlooked, just well taken care of. This is one of those places where consistency meets quality, and that’s rare.

I will absolutely be back, again and again. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food, great vibes, and an all-around amazing experience, this is it. Miami Gardens, y’all got a gem.
