We ate at Eugene’s last night after a bad experience trying to eat elsewhere. We were very glad we ended up here. My wife and I both got chicken sandwiches. She got the “hot damn” and I got the mild. Both were great sandwiches. The hot one was quite hot but not too hot. The mild was still hot and tasted incredible. We also had some drinks who co were reasonably priced and delicious.
We had been having a very bad day until we arrived here. This meal turned it all around for us. Everything about Eugene’s was wonderful. The atmosphere, service, food. It was the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever eaten in my life.

I had heard wonderful things about this location. I stopped in for lunch. It’s smaller than I had imagined. It’s got a bit of a sports bar feel, minus the televisions.
The young lady at the resister wasn’t very personable. No smile offered. I had never been to this restaurant and had forgotten to tell them the spice level. The young lady never asked me either. I hadn’t realized that I hadn’t told them to add heat until my food was already being prepared.
The food was fresh and delicious. The French fries are thin string shoe style. The chicken tenders were big and breaded nicely. The ranch was good. Not quite as good as Wi by Stop, but better than packet ranch. (This is important to some of us… )
The chairs are not very comfy. Metal chairs that don’t provide back support.
Overall a good experience. I would hesitate to have another done in experience here, however.

Really good jumbo tenders. The sides were also pretty good. I got the hot seasoning which was indeed hot and spicy. Nice location with seating inside and out. Very similar to hattie b.

It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t particularly great either. I had the hot chicken tenders and waffles which I liked a lot. The kids didn’t eat their grilled cheeses which were $11 each (?!?). My wife had the vegan sandwich which she said was ok but pretty dry.

Really good hot chicken. Staff seemed really friendly. It’s a small spot but it was very good.

We were in town for the Birmingham Bowl and stopped in for lunch. Food was so good! Chicken was hot and fresh. Wife got the greens and said they were the best she’s ever had. I didn’t even get to try them before they were gone!
Service was great as well. Fast and friendly.
Eugene’s is definitely a don’t miss stop!

I tried the $1.25 Wednesday Wing Special with fries. The chicken was fried perfectly, crispy and flavorful. However, I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. I ordered mild on my wings, but the flavor was sweet. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the waitress was very helpful. I can’t wait to return, I already have in mind what I would like to try next.

The chicken tenders and okra were delicious! I had the Hot Damn seasoning on my tenders, and it was the perfect amount of heat. The seasoning tastes more than just cayenne pepper like other establishments. The okra was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the food. The place is small and a little crowded during lunchtime, but there is extra outdoor seating.

Always great! Best pork chops around! My 97 yr old dad has complained about every food from every place around except for the pork chops at Eugene’s! The skillet beans are so good that we bought some for home. It’s 6:41 pm and they’re calling out to me from the kitchen!
The service is wonderful. They really go out of their way for the customers.

Wow, that was crazy good. I ordered a hot chicken sandwich with fried pickled okra and their come back sauce. All of it was excellent. Highly recommended.
