Pub perfection. Neighborhood spot I almost don’t want people to know about. Wide menu of food options and specials. They have a rotating menu of special dinners too, like pot roast. There’s a horseshoe bar and scattered seating for any group size.

I’m Irish born and bred, so I know a good, authentic Irish bar when I see one, and this place is something special. It has a truly authentic Irish feel, where it’s about community and bringing people together through great events and good company. It’s a fantastic little spot with real heart.
John, the owner, is incredibly personable and welcoming, and you can feel the care and pride he puts into the place.
It has a great function room out the back and a lovely patio in the summer, there’s more to it than meets the eye. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. ☘️

We’re not Watertown natives, but since moving to town 3 years ago, JD and the whole Donohue’s staff has welcomed us with open arms. We love coming here, be it Wednesday trivia, brunch, holiday parties, the Super Bowl, whenever, they rock. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is awesome. The staff is kind, always there for you, and make an effort to make you feel at home. This place is 12/10.

Independently owned and operated for nearly 3 decades. There’s a reason–JD and his team are as fanatical about execution as they are about having a good time, and ensuring patrons do as well. No suprise: many if not most are regulars. This place is not just a bar and grill–it’s an institution. The clams are better than you will find on the Cape. The Irish breakfast is banging every time. The beer is outstanding, fresh, and served in a legit 20 oz imperial pint. Try the Greek wings, as well.

This is truly a neighborhood place. My first time here, I was wildly surprised by how good the roast beef sandwich was, so I went back fully intending to repeat the experience. Lo and behold, they had a special Irish menu for St. Patrick week, and it included Irish breakfast. This may have been the best Irish breakfast I’ve ever had, in Boston or in Ireland. The brown bread was excellent, the Irish bacon was the best, it was all just great. Wow. Hope they’ll continue to serve it after the 17th!

Had a good lunch with some friends from out of town. We sat out back and it was great but we where very surprised when the acorns started falling on the sheet metal roof above us. Despite that the meal was good. The chicken fingers where frozen but not bad. The French dip was where it was at though! The turkey club was okay and the fries and onion rings where okay too. The special roast beef sliders where on point. They went too fast to get a picture of though. The waitress was super friendly and down to earth 10/10 would recommend for service.
