What a fabulous event the Fireside Dinner is. On arrival, you mingle with guests and eat appetizers with either mulled cider or mulled wine. Cash bar available. Then you help staff make a fish and clam chowder in the fireplace. Finally it’s time for your sleighride, weather and snow permitting, while your prime rib is roasting in that fireplace.

On return from your sleighride, it’s time to eat. Tasty chowder and prime rib (or salmon), made to perfection. Finally it’s time for dessert: hot apple cobbler fresh out of the oven with mounds of home-made whipped cream. Did I mention delicious?

This restaurant is over 100 years old and full of period artifacts. Treat yourself, your family, your date, or your out of town guests to this wonderful culinary experience–it’s one of a kind. Wonderful venue for wedding, gala, shower or business event. Go ahead, make another treasurable memory!

This place was absolutely incredible I loved going on the entire tour and learning all the history as well as going on the horse drawn wagon ride. It feels very cozy inside and the prime rib is to die for. Everything is so delicious and they treat you like your family. I am fully recommending to everyone this wonderful New England Charm that is truly inspiring. They had live music playing, a guitarist and you can request that your prime rib be cooked well done for you. The chowder is nice and thick and the whipped cream on the apple pie is almost like ice cream. Please support this wonderful piece of history and may it be preserved for many more hundreds of years to come.

An unforgettable evening of historic charm and incredible food!
From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the cozy, colonial atmosphere. Sitting by the original roaring fireplace with a cocktail in hand felt like stepping back in time. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special night out.
The food was outstanding from start to finish:
Appetizers: We started with the fresh oysters and the fried crab cakes (perfectly crispy!).
Salad: The wedge salad was loaded with toppings and very fresh.
Main Courses: I highly recommend the Pan Roasted Duck Breast with the cherry port wine demi-glace—it was cooked perfectly. The Grilled fish (i dot remember)with the honey Dijon butter was also a highlight, served with a generous side of seasonal veggies and a fluffy baked potato.
Dessert: We finished with a Indian pudding classic dessert and vanilla ice cream that was the perfect sweet ending.
“Cheryl” she is service for tonight was warm and attentive, and we even enjoyed reading the “Rave Reviews” for the local history book displayed at the table at the reception table. If you are in West Brookfield, this is a must-visit for anyone who loves great New England fare and a unique, historic setting.
Tip: Try to get a table near the fireplace!

So we did the Fireplace Feast! It’s a little pricey but the experience was amazing. We got tickets in the fall. Horse Drawn wagon ride. My wife was able to participate in making the soup. Cider was delicious. Staff was friendly and fun. Just remember YOU LOVE whipped cream!!!

Old New England fare and atmosphere. Well worth the drive. Great food! Just amazing! And the service was excellent too. Then there’s the atmosphere. We were seated in the Tavern, right in front of the fireplace on a cold winter’s night. Very charming!

I had my wedding October 2025 at Salem Cross in. It has been 3 months and my guests are still raving about the beauty of the venue and how amazing the food was.

I found this venue due to a co-worker recommended it since she got married there and knew Salem Cross had the vibe I was going for. From the moment I reached out, Donna was so friendly. My Fiancé and I toured the venue and were absolutely stunned with the beauty of it. After booking the venue, Donna was great at communicating with us whether it was through phone calls or email. She addressed all our questions is a timely and professional manner.

For our wedding we picked Rustic Chicken and Open Fire Prime Rib for our meals and Apple Crisp for our dessert. Both dinner options were absolutely delicious and all of our guests loved everything from the Appetizers, to the Main Meal to the Dessert.

Overall, Salem Cross in was an amazing place to have our wedding! It gave a great rustic vibe and it was intimate. The food was amazing and Donna and her staff really made things run smoothly and made my Wedding one of the best days of my life!

We went with a group for the Sunday Fireside Feast. It was a great experience, and we’ll probably come again for regular sit down service. The food was good considering it was servicing a very large group. Often at events like this, food is lukewarm, under seasoned, & service is slow. Not so here, our food was hot, the food was well seasoned, and service was not fast per se, but very well done! I really appreciated the staff, who were friendly, fun, accommodating, and took care of our group.

Very pleasant experience. It was my husband birthday and I saw this place on Instagram, my advice call to make a reservation even if the place have plenty of space but is always crowded because the food is very delicious. We had an amazing time. Is family friendly or a couple night out is perfect. I can’t imagine in the summer how beautiful could be for a wedding. Yes they have enough space for a wedding i was amazed. We traveled 1 hour to get there, worth it !!!!

I recently photographed a wedding there, and I was blown away by how beautiful and serene the property is. The rolling fields, open pastures, and cows grazing in the distance create such a peaceful, New England atmosphere — it feels like something out of a painting.

The outdoor ceremony space on the lawn is perfect — surrounded by wide-open views and soft, natural light that makes every moment feel timeless. And the barn reception space is just as stunning, with its warm wood tones and cozy ambiance that make guests feel instantly at home.

From a photographer’s perspective, it’s one of those venues where everywhere you turn is another perfect backdrop — from golden-hour portraits in the fields to romantic photos by the barn.

The staff were also so welcoming and attentive, making the day flow seamlessly from start to finish.

If you’re looking for a venue that combines rustic charm, incredible scenery, and true New England warmth, Salem Cross Inn is one of the best. I can’t wait to photograph another wedding there!

Loved the food here. The squash muffins were the best. Fresh and crispy salad. However, the chicken pot pie turned into chicken stew on a biscuit. This is not chicken pot pie and should not be advertised as such. However, the food was tasty.
