The food was not as good as expected. We were two people, and for the price we paid, the quality was very mediocre. Don’t get me wrong — the food is decent, but it is totally overpriced.
The waffle and quail were oily and very average. The cocktails were good, and the wagyu short rib was just okay. The biggest disappointment was the duck breast. You could really notice the lack of proper cooking technique — it was chewy and tough. Very disappointing.
The desserts were good, but at these prices you expect high quality across the board. I can see why they didn’t earn a Michelin star; they are far from that level.
To be fair, the service was great and the people working there were really nice and attentive, which we appreciated.
In summary, it’s good food but overpriced, and you can get the same quality at many other restaurants in Raleigh for half the price. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have $250 to waste.

Very inventive dishes (loved the bone marrow tartare and crab risotto) but they lean a bit more on the saltier side. We decided to forgo the entrees since they seemed a little plain and just ordered appetizers, which was the right move – portions are pretty generous and presentation is nice. The blood orange pistachio cake was a good finisher, and paired well with the blood orange tequila cocktail. Service was very attentive, too!
Our meal came out to ~80pp with 1 cocktail each, 4 appetizers, and 1 dessert between two people. Kind of pricey (and the entrees are much more expensive) but overall a solid choice.

First of all, Wow! Food was delicious and service was spot on. The dirty martini, appetizers, entrees, and dessert all impressed me. Our server Sydney, was the most memorable server I’ve ever had. I work in the restaurant industry and have been to many fine dining restaurants, but this is now one of my favorites. Sydney was amazing and made the experience a 100/10. She is an absolute delight and her recommendations were perfect. I would definitely go back for not only the food but the top tier service!

My wife and I went to Crawford and Son for the first time after our courthouse wedding and they gave us the best night! Great wine list and a perfect dirty martini. I think we could have had 5 bowls of the Carolina Gold Risotto it was so tasty. Our swordfish was cut into heart shapes which was so sweet of them. The GM (Kat) stopped by to ensure we were enjoying our time. Simply great food and expert friendly service. Overall felt very welcomed and would definitely come back. Also check out Jolie next door or Brodeto down the road – all of the Crawford restaurants are excellent and memorable.

I would say this experience was probably closer to a 3.5. Atmosphere, service all of that was good. We went as a party of 3. We got 3 appetizers, the risotto, the rendang and the buttermilk fried quail. All 3 of the appetizers were excellent with the group split between the rendang and the quail for best dish. We got the duck, short rib, cod for entrees. All 3 of these dishes were very lackluster. The duck while cooked well lacked flavor and the sauces on the plate didnt have much flavor. The cabbage was ok. I was told the cod was only cooked ok and that the sweet potato was the best part of the dish. I dont know what to say about the short rib other than its one of my favorite cuts of meat and I didnt even finish the one here. Also the broccoli rabe had so much smoke it tasted burnt. Borderline inedible.
270 dollars, you only make 4 entrees so I expected them to be amazing.

I can see why this restaurant was on the Michelin Guide for Raleigh. The ambiance when you walk in, is so cozy. However, the food was AMAZING. All the flavors were there. The yellowtail crudo had to be my favorite dish. The rice cake they put on top is to die for, and dipping it in the yellowtail was chefs kiss. The catfish was their special and it was perfectly lightly battered and fried! Cocktails were unique and held lots of flavor. Definitely ask the waitress or waiter about the speakeasy, you’ll need a key to go! The service was 10/10, a great date night

They seated me next to a party of approximately 20 people, and they were unbelievably loud. They were screaming like they were the only table in the entire restaurant. It completely set the tone in the wrong way when all we wanted was a nice, peaceful dinner. It gave me a headache, and I didn’t enjoy my meal at all.
I wish management had been more attentive and said something to the obnoxious, screaming group—something as simple as, “Hey, there are other tables around you. Please be mindful so everyone can enjoy their dinner.” Instead, nothing was done until I finally went to the manager myself, and only then did they move me.
Everyone else in the restaurant was having a great time, yet no one else was yelling. What is wrong with these people? I did not expect to pay $460 for dinner in such a terrible environment. Management needs to be more proactive and address situations like this—or at the very least give a heads-up like, “We only have a table next to a large party. Are you okay with that?” I didn’t get that courtesy at all.

Great ambiance and service. The herb biscuits were so good, and the food was tasty and cooked perfectly. Our server was very attentive. I tried one of the seasonal cocktails, but it ended up being too strong for my taste.
Our server noticed I didn’t drink it and offered me another option. I asked for a Moscow mule, even though it wasn’t on the menu, and it was delicious. I was also surprised that the first cocktail was removed from the check — such a nice touch.
