The falafels were the highlight for me, crispy on the outside and full of flavor inside. The lamb had a much stronger taste than I expected, so it was not my personal favorite. The sandwich is a great option if you are keeping things light, but the platter is more filling since it comes with rice. Overall, a solid spot with tasty options depending on how hungry you are.

Great food. Quick service. You go to the counter, order from a large tablet screen. Easy to customize your order. They call you up when food ready. Plenty of kabob choices as well as vegetarian options. Hummus and baba ganoush very very good.
Excellent choice for a quick delicious inexpensive meal.

We, a family of four, go there about once per year. And we are never disappointed. We find plenty of options including vegetarian options. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the price in the other restaurants nearby. The food takes little time to prepare and is always tasty. Parking is a bit of a problem though, especially in the weekend.

Excellent Middle Eastern restaurant. The lamb Swarma just melted in my mouth. It’s near Princeton University. Street parking is $1.75 an hour. There’s garage parking nearby, where first 30 minutes is free and after that $1.25 an hour. A very vibrant college neighborhood. It’s order and self serving place. I highly recommend it!

Mamoun’s Falafel was a great first experience for me! My friends have been here a lot and I decided today was the day. I ordered the Sullivan and added baklava on top of that. The Sullivan was extremely well spiced and tasted amazing, and somehow, the baklava was even better! I would definitely come back for a reasonably priced and healthy meal.

I’m pretty disappointed by the food at Mamoun’s. It wasn’t bad, but the portion size and cost are completely in different ballparks. Everything you add to your bowl is an upcharge. I added salad, extra meat and spent $20 just on my bowl only to hungry after. It’s questionable if I got the extra chicken I ordered, rice sizes were pitiful, the amount of sauce you get is but enough. I spent $60 at this place for 3 people, not worth it. On top of that, ordering is all kiosk based, no chipotle-esq style so they limit your ability to customize the bowl and limit the service you are provided.

Take your money and go elsewhere, plenty of other similar restaurants in NJ that load up your bowl.

Rude staff, below average food. They did not put hot sauce at all, just Tahini sauce. No flavors, food quantity too less for the price.
The NYC or Hoboken location is a bit better. But overall Mamoun’s is on a downhill with increased prices and sub standard food quality.

Previously enjoyed visits to the original NYC location multiple times.

This location is great in the lively downtown Princeton area.

Lovely well-maintained space with nice decor. Lots of seating.

Order via user-friendly kiosks at the counter. Food was ready in about 5-10 minutes.

Food was great…I had a platter with falafel, lamb, rice, grape leaves and hummus. Also had some baklava for dessert…also great. Very satisfying meal.

Prices were reasonable given the amount of food you get.

Staff were very friendly and efficient.

Metered street parking in the nearby surrounding streets.

My son and I had the most wonderful experience at this lovely restaurant. The food is so fresh and delicious. I had the best lentil soup I have ever had! I have had lentil soup of every nationality and this lentil soup was unlike any other! You MUST try it! The hummus also was delicious and the pita was not dry and skinny like most places, but plump, soft and fresh. I loved my falafel sandwich which was still decicious 7 hours later when I finally ate it for dinner. My son also loved his gyro and talked about how yummy the meat was. The owners of this restaurant are lovely, generous people who truly care about their customers. They hire staff who are also lovely and caring. What a special establishment. I can’t wait to return!

Visit #2:
Seeing I had been relatively harsh on my first review I decided to give mamouns a second chance at redemption. I order the sandwich and the pistachio baklava. This time I got the chicken variant and I would update my rating to a 3.5. It was better than meat but filled with tahini sauce which was runny and made it saltier than I am used to. NGL I liked it and the pistachio baklava was nice too but not as crunchy as I was imagining from the texture. So will give the overall experience a thumbs up if you haven’t tried but don’t see myself as a regular.

Visit #1
I visited Mamoun’s Falafel and found the ambiance to be great. There was ample seating, and the music created a lively atmosphere. They have kiosks for ordering, which was convenient, but as a first-timer, I found it a bit tricky to decide what to order. I ended up getting the lamb platter ($13.99 plus tax), even though I initially had chicken in mind. The order didn’t take long to prepare, though I mistakenly went to pick it up before my turn.

The food was served hot, and the beef had a distinct charred flavor, which stood out. However, the rice wasn’t as fluffy as I’ve had elsewhere, and the overall dish felt a bit dry. While the meat was flavorful, the pairing with the rice didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Overall, the place has a nice vibe, and the ordering process is streamlined. However, just judging it based on the food, I’d say it was okay. Since this establishment has been around for a while, I’m sure they have a loyal fan base that appreciates their flavor profile—it just didn’t resonate with me.
