The people handing the selected food to me were very nice. All the food looked delicious. The available seating was very nice. One guy was servicing a large number of tables, helping people and clearing tables. Getting his help wasn’t possible on my visit.

Has been a while since we had lunch there. We don’t live in the area. I love 7 layer salad, but it was full of imitation bacon bits, the taste overwhelmed the salad. Food quality is not what is once was, no longer the great tasting southern dishes you once had. The employees serving were absolutely wonderful, friendly and accommodating, but we will not be going back.

Upon walking in with my daughters to celebrate one of their birthdays, i had literally bragged on this place because someone i know works there, it was bad. Lets start at the entry, it had to be between 12-1 we arrived on Friday, the people behind the food bar looked tired and like they didn’t want to be there. We weren’t greeted, we just looked and informed the person what we wanted. We didn’t see no menus just what was out there. We weren’t informed of pricing we were just handed a receipt. We had never been there so we had no idea how the process worked. I asked the lady at the cash register and then she told me. The food tasted like it had been sitting for a while, the cornbread was hard, the fish had no taste, and there was an odd taste with the gravy that was on the mashed potatoes. I will say the tea was great and the gentleman in the lobby area that was refreshing our drinks was very kind. I spent $53 and i didn’t enjoy the meal or the customer service at all.

The food is decent. There are A LOT of choices. There is a lot of space in the restaurant and it is good for big groups. The staff is mostly friendly, except for one of the weekend night managers. I attended a recent event there and that manager was quite rude until the owner got on the phone and straightened out the situation. It is a bit overpriced and the specials are not well advertised. It would be helpful to see what comes with a kids meal or other specials. In order for a kids meal to be rung up as a kid’s meal all of the food must be on the same plate. I did not realize this the first time I ordered kid’s meals and then I ended up being charged way more than expected. I tried to explain to the lady ringing up the food that I said I wanted kids meals but she was not having it. It can be hard to hear in there ordering and I did not understand that everything had to be on one plate for the kids. The restaurant is clean and checkout is generally quick. They charge a credit/debit card fee. They also have a lot of quarter machines and the kids will absolutely want quarters, so take some with you if you wish. I tell mine I will give them quarters if they behave!

We were in the Gastonia area and had lunch at Jackson’s. Everyone was so kind and the food was hot and delicious! My kids loved the chicken and dumplings!

This is a quiet clean restaurant that is similar to a K&W cafeteria but with a down home feel. Good selection of meats and vegetables. Two of us ate for around $25. But one only picked up 3 vegetables and a slice of pie. I had chicken tenders, fried okra and fried squash. Everything was great , just good home cooking.

First time visit and wasn’t pleased. Customer service training is needed. No menu outside of the special of baked spaghetti or smothered cube steak. The first server is the only one with a smile and offered a price for the cake. As we moved down the next server I requested peach pie with crust and she refused to provided what I requested. The female server stated it was crust in the pie with no regard of my friend request. Unacceptable so I informed she could keep the pie. It was just peaches. The next lady asked me wanted but the had not served the gentleman in front of me. I informed my item was on down the line. Once arriving the lady had her head down wiping down the bar as a line begins to form. The next server had to get her attention to serve the customers in line. We drove from out of town and friend was excited to the visit. The floor was covered with food. As I waited to pay, the lady mumbled something then answered the phone. I was waiting to pay and the receipt she had printed. After I asked if I could pay she informs that I pay on the way out. Friend went back to request a box and pie and the lady had an attitude when she requested crust and not just the fruit.

I ordered the chicken and dumplings and they were salty with a lot of dumplings and no chicken!! I found 2 pieces of chicken in my dumplings after pouring them out of the container to try and find some meat that I thought was at the bottom.. but no, there was no chicken! The green beans were ok but too stringy for me.. I dislike green beans where you can taste the strings!! The mashed potatoes were ok. I also ordered the peach cobbler and that was a disappointment.. it tasted like someone took some crackers and crushed them up and dumped a can of peaches on top of it! No cinnamon flavor or anything!!

Eating like 1970 but current prices. Reminded me of times with Mom and Dad so thankful for that. Enjoyed the food I got, especially the Waldorf salad, it was perfect. Great service on the line and dining room.
