Lee’s Chinese Restaurant Revisited | Wichita By E.B.

We were craving a sit down Chinese restaurant, not your quick-service spot where every menu looks to be the same.

I eat alot of Asian food I mean almost 3-4 times a month, and was excited to go to Lee’s to try them out.
We left after our food was on the table for about 10 min.
First, the atmosphere- our table wasn’t clean when seated.
2nd I ordered the garlic beef, and my wife ordered shrimp both fried rice.
Fried rice was bland, and tasted old, sticky and clumpy.
The first bite of my beef was my last. The texture wasn’t beef, flavor wasn’t beef, I cut into it to see after the bite and it was a smooth cut no muscle direction. The veggies were soggy.
Wife’s shrimp was old as I could smell it when set on the table, the taste was consistent with being old- overly fishy.
The hot mustard and sweet sauce the bring out came out of a fridge in glass containers, in a wire rack and small spoons. The spoons were fridge cold also with debris on them, meaning they use them at other tables, put them in fridge and give them to next table for use. This is unsanitary.
Asked for our ticket to pay, vserver ask if we want any boxes, we said no. Brought ticket we paid cash to him and walked out.
The kid never asked if we have any problems or if food was good or not, yet he can see we both had 1 bite out of our entrees.
Coming home a food safety back ground and years of hospitality I have many concerns about this place.
I know Lee’s has been around for decades, but tonight showed that it’s not making it much longer, community support on a Saturday evening isn’t there any longer.

Definitely give them a try! The food was fresh and authentic!! The Generals chicken was a bit spicy but worth the heat !!!

The food wasn’t bad just tasted pretty average to us. Nothing really stood out as being the best. Ordered the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp tasted like it had some sort of film or breading on it. It was definitely not appealing.

The older lady was very nice but our waitress was not. She seemed annoyed that we were there and that she had to do her job. Now the atmosphere was very dark and extremely uninviting.

Probably one of the most expensive general tso’s chickens ive had (15.95)

That being said the serving size is ridiculously small. I have never seen a chinese restaurant serve such a small portion.

The taste is also pretty bland. I would recommend everyone to spend their money elsewhere.

If i didnt already make it back to my hotel I would ask for a refund.

The food is all all right not what I was expecting to get with pepper chicken portion is really really small for 30 bucks. This is what I’ve got.

First time ever going I had the general chicken and white rice little spicy, but pretty good actually. But I asked him if they crab red goose were sweet and they told me yes but there wasn’t sweet. Like traditional crab dragons so I have to dock some points for that and also my lemonade had seeds in it, which was pretty weird for me that had a pretty good time

We had a table of 9 come in and after 50 minutes of waiting for a table we were finally seated. After being seated we had to ask multiple times to even have our order taken we were not asked if we would like any appetizers or anything for 30min. After having our order taken we waited over an hour for our food. We asked how much longer it would be and we were told 30 more minutes and that the kitchen was backed up, however tables of 2-5 who got there well after we did we’re still being served. I understand the wait to sit however the indecency of making us wait 2 hours for our food when everyone else is getting served is absolutely ridiculous! We ended up picking up and leaving because the wait at that point did not seem worth it.

We were in town for shopping and wanted to try a place we have never been. We came across this place and I’m so glad we did! The food was very good and the staff was friendly. There were a few other groups while we were there but we saw several getting to-go orders so you can do that as well. We will definitely come here more often when we come to town now that we know about it! We are always in search of good Chinese food and this place has it.

I worked Xmas day, placed 2 orders to go as I did not feel like cooking.
Bland af Mongolian Beef and Veg fried rice.
It was very busy with all the pickup orders but still, very unimpressed with the food even tho I was happy at the time they were open Xmas day.
