the owner was nice & kind but i don’t see the hype at all behind the food .. i ordered curry goat which i thought it would be made to order.. not to mention i called ahead but my plate was made once i got there .. then asked if i wanted my food heated up in the microwave so i already knew the food was sitting all day to begin with.. the curry goat is rubbery & chewy to get off the bone .. food is mediocre. i’ll be sticking with Pete’s around the corner.

Even after driving 45 minutes for Jamaican food, I should have just turned around and walked out when I asked the restaurant owner if the food was fresh. He seemed to have gotten offended, Indeed the food was not fresh. The patties were dry and hard, plantains were cold, & not so good vibes. I honestly felt bamboozled out of the money I spent. I am definitely sticking with “PETE’s” down the road.

My husband ordered the jerk chicken, and it was cold on the inside. The flavor was extremely underwhelming and did not resemble authentic jerk seasoning at all. I ordered the curry chicken plate, which was essentially a plate full of bones, overloaded with cabbage and rice and peas, with very little actual meat. It felt careless and not worth the price.
We spoke to who appeared to be the owner or someone in charge (kinda sassy in attitude), who mentioned he’s been doing this for 19 years, but unfortunately the food did not reflect that level of experience. The quality, preparation, and presentation were nowhere near what you’d expect from someone with that many years in the business.
To make matters worse, nothing was piping hot or freshly made. Everything appeared to be pre-prepped and sitting in pots or crock pots, which could explain why the jerk chicken wasn’t heated or cooked through properly. It honestly looked like food that was prepared elsewhere and simply placed out to serve.
If you know anything about real, authentic Jamaican food, this is not it. This may be considered good for the area, but we know better. The food was overpriced, tasteless, and disappointing. Save your money and your appetite not worth the calorie intake.

Food, good. Service, ok. Read review till the end The portion sizes were good. My mother had the stewed fish, and it was cooked well and well seasoned. I had a combination of the pork and stew chicken, both were seasoned well. The sauces were great on the rice and peas. We also ordered a chicken patty and it was a little dry, they were out of beef. They were actually out of a lot of items so our options were limited. Overall is was an ok experience, but I had one issue that I wanted to mention.

One thing I wanted to note. The price of the fish on the menu was 15.50. When they rang me up it was $25. They said because the size of the fish was large. The fish looks large because of the head being on in my opinion. I wish they would have told me about the price change at the beginning and not after waiting 15-20 minutes for our food and were checking out. Not cool. I brought it, because my mom already was expecting it, but that was NOT worth $25.00.

Pretty good and authentic Jamaican food. The guys are really nice and kind. The beef patty was good and actually a little spicy, we enjoyed it. The curry chicken and the jerk chicken were also good, and the portion was nice and big. I didn’t really like the plantain, it felt really starchy and sour..like if it wasn’t ripe enough. But everything else was pretty good! We also got a slice of banana bread and it was perfect.
We will go back for sure! I recommend it!

Fantastic!!! I’ve been here once before and it was but haven’t been back in a while because it’s far from where I live at.

I was in the area for lunch and I ♥️♥️♥️♥️ how they have lunch specials!!!!! I usually go to High Grade Jamaican restaurant because it’s closer but if this place was closer, I would come here instead because their curry chicken has bone in it and the other place I go to don’t have bone in the curry chicken. Plus they have affordable lunch specials and the other place do not.

The first time I came here I had a great experience too but the only thing I didn’t care for the first time was the coco bread wasn’t homemade (store bought). They probably changed it and I didn’t get it this time as you see from the picture but that was the only issue from the first time. Other than that, they are nice, you get a good serving size, taste great, and it’s affordable! 10/10

In the picture is the curry chicken lunch special! Perfection!

Honestly he heated our food in the microwave, but advertised that it was cooked to order, that was strike one. Strike two was that he charged us for another plate when we asked for extra meat on one of our plates (he only added two oxtails). The food is extremely lacking in flavor but very salty? The portion size is terrible. I got goat that came with 4 pieces of small meat
Don’t eat here. Go anywhere else.
