We had a great experience here at the Tavern. Our server took on an entire family of multiple generations and did a phenomenal job. He kept all of our food and tickets straight and kept our refills coming. We highly recommend the special grinder and the pasta with the Barcelona sauce. Several family members ordered the pizzas and said they were delicious as well. Excellent food and service! We can’t wait to come back next year on our visit.

Overall, good place to stop and eat. Food was good, not overwhelmingly amazing but good none the less.
Server was nice and friendly but overall service was on the slow end.
The Bambino Grinder had decent flavor but it still felt like something was missing as in it felt a little flat in the flavor department.
The Onion Rings were what you expected from homemade onion rings. Thinly sliced, lightly breaded and crispy.
My girlfriend had the pasta Alfredo with chicken and she said it was pretty good.
Overall, yes I would return but not if I’m in any sort of rush.

Looking for a delicious personal hot off the grill pizza — try The Tavern. The thin crust is fresh and it holds your selective ingredients perfectly. My grilled chicken lunch specialty pizza was on FIRE! The presentation with evenly spread with marinara sauce topped with a good amount of grilled chicken which was tastefully seasoned. NICK — the bar master — offered up key tips on their popular dishes — not only does he balance duties at the bar but puts in his hours assisting with making their fresh hoagies and buns so delicious. The Tavern has lots of options beyond pizza — the burgers are humongous( who knew). I am sure there would be loads of gluten free and vegan dishes that will rock your palette. Give them a try!

We came in on a cold Saturday and were greeted by a very friendly and warm hostess. She had a wonderful smile! Too many times we’ve been greeted at other restaurants with unenthusiastic staff. It was refreshing to see warm smiles!
We sat in the bar and had a great experience with our server, Abigail. She was on top of our refills, salads, and got all 6 of our orders correct. She was busy with other tables but made sure we were taken care of.
The pizza warmed us right up and we had plenty of leftovers for Sunday lunch. Will be back!

Let me start by saying the Tavern pizza is my favorite in town, but we mostly visit the other location in person. However, the 50th Street location is the only one that offers delivery through a third party. Both times we have ordered for delivery the pizza order has been wrong, or just poor quality. The first time the order was incorrect, but we were starving, so we let it slide. The second time, we had company…and a pizza with no cheese on half, and another that was COMPLETELY wrong (like chicken, Alfredo, onion and pineapple wrong!). We called and were told there was nothing they can do because it was ordered through a third party. I was unaware that devoids them of ALL responsibility for quality and accuracy. Just be warned. You are rolling the dice if you order delivery! We will never visit or order from that location again

I ate here for the first time in 20+yrs and I don’t think much has changed. The decor, table, chairs, and carpet are all very old and make you wonder how clean things really are, being that old. The food is good but won’t blow you away. The lunch specials are economical. The service was very good, fast, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Just time for a remodel and a deep clean.

My pasta was mushy. The chicken was so good. I had the chicken parm. The girl who greated us was so kind and friendly. My server did not introduce herself so I did not know her name, checked in on us 1 time, and that was after we had our app, salad, and entree. Was no other inter action before that except for the drink. She was yelling across the entire restaurant and did not check on us at all. When it came time for boxes she did not offer dessert, which I wanted, but was unable to order because she dropped the check off with the boxes. She was too busy talking to the guest at the bar whom she was not serving. It was very frustrating since our first experience was so good. It is so disappointing since my husband and I both serve as our second jobs. I will not be back at all because of her.

We have been long standing Tavern fans of their pizza and onion rings for many many years.We arrived half hour before closing on a Thursday night.The sign on the door said no food orders placed past 15 minutes prior to closing time. We assumed we were good and there wouldn’t be a problem. Upon entering, the hostess stopped vacumming and came over to where we stood. When we told her we had a party of four, which we were all there currently,
she stared for a minute and huffed off saying just a minute.Came back, grabbed menus and led us to a table across from the vacuum.There was no one else eating in the restaurant, plenty of open tables. A pickup order waiting on the bar. She then proceeded to go into an open window area next to the bar and very obviously talked about us, as to whomever she was speaking to kept looking our way as well.Our server came out, greeted us, was very friendly and accommodating. She did a fantastic job, kept our drinks filled and was attentive. We ordered drinks, 3 pizzas and onion rings and I tipped her well. The hostess kept giving us the side eye as she was talking about us the entire time we were there. The food was great, however we left right at closing time at 9, with 3 barely eaten pizzas after having had enough of the hostess’s attitude. We have never been treated so rudely.

We came in with a group of ten people and we were seated immediately. Kolby took us on with absolute stellar service and fantastic personality. Amazing first experience and I’ll definitely be returning. If you’re lucky enough to have Kolby as your server, you’re in for a wonderful and hilarious experience.
