My husband ordered a habanero mocktail that he loved, and I had the Winter Fizz, which had this perfect tart pop from the pomegranate. The focaccia came out savory, salty, and wonderfully crispy. The endive salad honestly surprised me—in the best way. You taste everything: the richness of their amazing olive oil, crunch from the nuts and herbs, the little bitter snap from the greens, and this smooth, creamy yogurt tying it all together.
The bucatini was spot-on with just the right amount of warm pepper and perfect chew. The pork Milanese was cooked beautifully—still slightly pink inside—and that mustard aioli was fire. And the desserts! My husband ordered the creamsicle and said it was incredible. I had the panna cotta, which almost ate like a savory cold cheese course. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle of their olive oil on the way out.
Such a fantastic meal and overall experience. We can’t wait to come back!
Service deserves 6*, impeccable from start to finish. That was something I had zero complaints about. The food on the other hand was just really inconsistent. 1 or 2 incredible dishes, several middling ones, and one downright bad.
The focaccia is an absolute must order, clear standout. Meanwhile all the entrees were whatever. The raviolo is offensively priced, ~25 for a SINGLE raviolo with not enough guanciale on it… please be for real.
Dessert was also fine. I enjoyed the panna cotta but again, nothing remarkable. The chocolate olive oil cake was bad though. Dry and dense.
The broccoli was amazing! The charred taste and crunch were very memorable.
The vongole and tortelli were also very good! The drinks as well. The portion size was perfect for a nice small dinner.
The standout was the beef tartare served on a baguette. It was beautifully seasoned. The chef’s seasoning brought out the delicate flavor of the beef, and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
We also ordered the vongole and the carbonara, both of which were unique. The carbonara was done in a ravioli-style format rather than the usual spaghetti, which made it a refreshing twist. The vongole was spicier than the traditional version, and while unconventional, I personally enjoyed it.
However, the meat dishes were underwhelming. The chicken dish was quite sour, which was clearly intentional, but it did not feel like the best use of the ingredient, and we were not particularly impressed. The fried pork was very mediocre and not distinctive. It felt like something you could easily find elsewhere. Coming from a country with many excellent fried pork dishes, this one did not meet my expectations.
Overall, the restaurant was good, but the experience felt rushed. Since being listed in the Michelin Guide, it seems to have become much busier, and that showed in the pacing of the meal. While the food was solid, I am not sure I would return anytime soon. That said, it is still worth trying and forming your own opinion.
The bathrooms also had a nice array of items for those needing to freshen up (hair tie, bobby pins, floss, hairspray, etc.) The most popular at our table was the floss.
We left full and walked for a while taking in the different spots along the neighborhood.
