We are an independent burger restaurant group specialising in the best burgers and dirty fries. Born in 2010 with roots in Newcastle Upon Tyne, our burger restaurants live all over the UK. Recognised for our quality ingredients and quirky flavours, we’re all about ‘good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face’ food. Our signature beef and boneless buttermilk chicken patties come with free fries as standard. As well as our carefully designed range of vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options available, our family friendly burger joint has a great value kids menu. Was really looking forward to coming here as people say it’s fantastic! However my experience wasn’t great! My wife’s chicken burger came out really cold and when she got it replaced, it felt as if the chef was upset about it and just threw her second burger together from a distance! My kids didn’t really enjoy it and didn’t finish their meals! Mine was pretty average at best! We all ordered chunky chips and we all received fries! The starters were okay but the onion rings were really nice and the only reason I’ve scored the food as high as 2 stars! The service was far too fast, barely took the plates away after our starters and the mains were there! The starters also came flying out! Which makes me believe that nothing is cooked fresh and just launched together at the time of ordering! The table we were sat at was too small for 4 people in my opinion and we all felt a bit cramped! The toilet door was a struggle to lock (the one and only toilet there) and the hand dryer wasn’t working at all! Coming in at £108 for 4 people to have a barely average burger and chips is excessive too! I will certainly not be going back! We made an impromptu visit after not eating from fat hippo for a long time. The service was great, it was fairly busy for dine in and deliveries when we arrived but the staff dealt with everything really well. Food was good and the portions were decent value for what we paid.

there was excellent service and food. me personally i had the american burger with dirty fries and their signature fat hippo sauce was brilliant. the atmosphere was great aswell. very reasonable price too.

Came here for the first time and it was PERFECT! Giuseppe and Neo (I think that was the right name) were very friendly, and I got given great recommendations for drinks and food. The burger was loadedd and tasted so good, I had to finish it at home Will defo be back soon

Came here last week with friends. The manager seemed to spend more time flirting with a girl from the kitchen then serving customers. The food was amazing but customer service was lacking. The manager should focus more on the service then conflict of his position as manager
