This is one of the best restaurants in San Antonio. Parking is not an issue—while the main lot is reserved for handicap parking, there is additional parking available across the bridge.
I have visited several times and tried at least five or six different dishes, all of which have been consistently excellent. The customer service is outstanding; the servers are friendly, engaging, and clearly enjoy what they do. It’s truly a hidden gem in San Antonio.

I haven’t ate here in about 15 years, but the vibe hasn’t changed and the food and drinks are still delicious. There’s a place in castroville that claims to have the best nachos in Texas, buy they clearly haven’t tried Apetitos’ nachos! I used to come here after working 12-16 hour night shifts at Wilford Hall on base as an Airman, but am now returning as a retiree to enjoy the finer things in life – and nothing is finer than Apetitos’ nachos and a cold glass of horchata!

First Time coming back since this fine Restaurant burned down. After all this time I was still Satisfied with their Tasty Mexican food My Love is a real Picky eater. So she ordered the Chicken Puffy Taco plate and said Puffy Shell was crunchy, fresh with a good taste. She loved the Rice also and the chicken taste inside the Puffy Taco❤️My love also loves their Carne Guisada Tacos, when she tasted the Carne Guisada she said this Carne Guisada is finger licking good Someone on Instagram said they were Legendary well I tasted the Carne Guisada Tacos and they were Legendary ❤️ Their Concita Bowl was also flawlessly Delicious.

Decided to give this place a try never been here before but I always pass it. On my way to work but a bean and cheese and a carne guisada with cheese. And some tacos for my husband we spent 25.00 for five tacos I was like OK so if the prices are like this, these tacos, better be good nope The worst tacos I’ve had ever been, and cheese had no cheese. The beans tasted burnt tortilla is so thin the carne guisada is so watery it just kept falling out of my taco. The cheese tasted like government cheese. And the meat had no flavor The drive-through lady had attitude never again will I be coming to this restaurant?

I was told this was the place to come for Mexican food and pancakes. And let’s just say it’s probably for the best that I don’t live closer to this place. Enchiladas? Good. Rice? Good. Beans? Good. Guacamole? Good. Tortillas? Good. Beef fajita? Good. Pancake? Good. You can see what happened. Everything was good. At first I thought the enchiladas were not saucy enough but it did actually suffice. And being able to get that single pancake? It made my day. I’ll be back for this magic again.

Went for tacos this morning and as you can see, I got “flautas “ . I used to love it here cause the food is good and the portions USED to be generous. I understand that times are hard for everybody right now but almost $25 for a bean and cheese, potatoes egg and bacon, carne guisada w cheese, and a country sausage Ala mexicana w beans is outrageous to begin with but also not getting my moneys worth portion wise (all tacos consisted of same size)is just heartbreaking. (Especially when you can purchase the same amount of food elsewhere for at least $5-$10 cheaper). I don’t know what’s worse, feeling ripped off or still being hungry after the breakfast “flautas “

Decided to stop by since I saw their $1 bean and cheese special and i kind of regret doing so. The food was mostly decent. I ordered a puffy taco plate and the chicken was very bland and the taco falling apart. Rice was also dry and the beans were decent. Overall the dish was okay. The flour tortillas had a plastic texture and didn’t feel very homemade. The salsa and small appetizer soup they gave me were good enough. The place has nice decor but lacked atmosphere. Now the three stars is mostly due to the poor service. Our server Peter was very friendly but lacked attentiveness. Empty drinks, dirty plates and lack of napkins throughout our entire visit really ruined our experience. I came here a couple of times as a child and now I understand why my parents never came back here. If I’m being honest I did order a dish that is complicated to make and eat which did lead to me having some issues I mentioned. This place is super affordable if you order the right things. Me and my partner only paid $23 so I’d say it’s kind of worth coming here if you’re on a budget. Sadly not somewhere I’d come back to.

Man, I had no idea this place was open for sit-down dining. The atmosphere is great, and all the pottery, parrots, and decorations are awesome. Now, for the food, I had the enchiladas with a crispy taco. All I can say is excellent! The cheese is the melty kind that oozes out and mixes with the rice and beans to make them that more amazing. The flavors were great, and we even had a small bowl of chonchitas, which really one uped any Mexican restaurant out there. The service was awesome, tea refilled, checked on many times. I had an amazing time here. Check them out for yourself and as always my 2 cents.
