Had a delightful lunch at A Delight of France in downtown Escondido! Love the French bistro vibe, very warm and comforting. We really enjoyed the croissant bechamel, French scramble, and chocolate croissant. The matcha latte and mocha latte were very yummy. Nice dog friendly patio. Very sweet, friendly and accommodating staff. Recommend!

The new management here is incredible! I didn’t get the name of the new manager or owner, but she is a gem! Great food and service. Casual order a the counter and grab a seat. Tip: if you come on a weekend get there early to beat the crowds. If you sleep in, you can order their drinks and tasty pastries to go. New fav.

The atmosphere and staff are very nice, superb, and very attentive. There is a lot of sitting area and no wait time when we went to have coffee and pastries.

Have been here multiple times now and will be going again today. Great food! Great atmosphere! And great service! As delicious as the Eggs Benedict are, the potatoes make it so much better.

(We are back home now but we are sending a HUGE “Thank You” for celebrating our Anniversary all week with us when we were there. Your kindness and love is so refreshing. It was a pleasure to meet both owners and the employees who are just as outstanding. A Delight of France is such a unique experience with top shelf food quality. Everything there is literally “PERFECT”. Our Almond croissants and other goodies are now devoured. We will see you all again in May. Hugs and love❣️)
If there were a grade above and A+, I would give it to this restaurant. From the kindness and friendliness of Alex as soon as we were approaching the counter from a far distance, to the smiles and helpfulness of everyone we met, this by far has been a memorable and excellent dining experience on all levels. The food is absolutely succulent in every way. The flavors are unique and superbly different. The portions are hefty. We are sold and this is our breakfast/brunch spot for each and every time we are in Escondido ❤️ EVERYTHING IS TOP NOTCH AND DELICIOUS. I’m warming up leftover now and we will return tomorrow. It’s our Anniversary and what a great kickoff to such a splendid occasion.

Delicious pastries made on site. Large portions of delectable breakfast dishes. We arrived on a rainy day and inside was busy. The staff was very pleasant and helpful getting us seated and bringing our food.
There is outdoor seating on the terrace which would be a lovely spot on a sunny day.
Highly recommended!

The taste, energy, environment, and overall atmosphere have only improved since the time of dear Monsieur Jacques (RIP, may his soul rest in peace). This place continues to energize us. My personal favorite is the scrambled eggs, though the BYO frittata is always a great choice as well. Once I tried their almond croissant 26 years ago, I found it impossible to enjoy any other almond croissant since. Their home baked baguettes are always fresh and, as flavorful and authentic as those I remember from a family trip to Bruxelles when I was 9 years old. Under the new management, A Delight of France in Escondido stands as one of the best French restaurants in San Diego that I have ever experienced.
