I drove from Houston to Lafayette to get my pork chop sandwich and large seafood platter (10 shrimp and 3 fish with rice). Anytime I’m in the area I make it my business to stop there. I’m not a tarter sauce person, but Charlie’s tarter sauce is the only sauce I will eat. The cost is worth it. The portion size exceeds expectations. I love that the food is always fresh and I don’t mind waiting. I enjoy my food every visit.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Charlie’s Seafood. My drink didn’t come with my order, and they didn’t have any electrolyte water available either. On top of that, the food was about a 2.5 out of 5 at best. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price or the hype.

Staying on the road again. Asked the desk clerk at the hotel where a good place for food was that was close. She recommended Charlie’s Seafood. Glad she did. Close to the hotel. When I saw the place, I was a bit apprehensive, but I’m so glad I got lunch and dinner there. It’s a seafood place that also serves Chineese food in Lafayette. Got and order of egg rolls and a superstuffed shrimp poboy. Really good. If your in the area, check this place out. Don’t be afraid of the neighborhood. Really nice local clientele, everybody wanted to chat, and the staff was great. Good food, and a heck of a deal. Local hole in the wall place if that’s what you’re into. I am.

I tried the grill chicken salad which was very delicious and big for the price . My fiance had the hamburger steak and he definitely enjoyed it. Everything was hot and fresh .

This was my first time coming in, since I don’t stay in Lafayette, but my food did come out hot and I didn’t have to wait to long. I would definitely go back when I’m in town. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken.
