Way bigger than it looks from the outside. 1st pic is Fajita Chimichanga with chicken, rice and refried beans for $14.50 USD. 2nd pic is Street tacos with refried beans and rice for $14.50 USD. Server friendly and attentive. Food arrived promptly and portions huge. Plenty of seating. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Recommend.

Stopped in midweek for lunch. Wait staff and hostess were not friendly and probably hates their jobs. I was worried upon being served the chips and salsa as the mild salsa looked puréed, brown, and unappealing. The medium salsa was runny – I could not find a tomato in it, but it surprisingly had good flavor. The Baja Fish taco was excellent, as were the beans and rice. The fish did not taste like it was dumped out of a box and into a fryer. I took the Pork Carnitas taco home and it reheated well.

This tastes authentic and has everything dialed in – the crispness of the chips, the salsa freshness and flavors, the food is served hot and tastes freshly prepared. Everyone is caring about your experience and the margaritas are awesome.

Zapata Mexican Restaurant is always a win! Sophia was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The food was delicious, and the margaritas were completely on point. The El Presidente and the Ultimate Margarita were standouts and easily our favorites. Great vibes, great service, and great drinks—we’ll definitely be back!

Coming from a California girl who grew up spoiled with the best Mexican food on earth, finding anything remotely authentic out here has been a whole journey. This spot finally ended the struggle.

My husband ordered the carnitas plate, and obviously I stole a bite because that’s my love language. Those carnitas were perfection. I had the enchiladas suizas and they were just as incredible. Legit flavor, legit execution.

Service was top tier. Our server, Niko, was super friendly and on point.

We’re absolutely coming back.

Food was delicious, service was amazing and atmosphere was great too. I am definitely coming back again. The only feedback I have is wish they have more customization options for vegetarian or for other diet restrictions. If you haven’t, worth trying.

Zapata’s….

I must be spoiled because in the USA’s former Mexican territories, there is plenty of great, cheap Mexican food. Zapata’s just doesn’t compare.

I got chicken enchiladas with rice, refried beans, and a guac-based sauce on the side. Everything was good, but nothing was impressive. The refried beans were refried beans. The rice was pretty standard, and the enchiladas without the sauce were somewhat bland, even though the chicken was juicy and well cooked.

With tax and tip, you are looking at over $20 per head. At that price point, I’d pass and look for something better. However, if you do eat here, the food will be solid.

I had the Shrimp Chimchore and it was hands down one of the best dishes I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant! The shrimp were perfectly sautéed in garlic butter—absolutely flavorful and cooked to perfection. What really took it over the top was the creamy chardonnay cilantro pecan sauce—rich, unique, and so satisfying. The dish was beautifully plated with refried beans, fresh avocado, and sour cream. Every bite was a burst of flavor. Highly recommend this dish—and Zapata’s—for anyone looking for something a little special!

Good food, nothing came out cold. Had the Deluxe Burrito and Taco Salad. Chips and salsa were very good. Parking is easy. Clean place — no complaints!
