“Lovely spot for brunch or tea — cozy, vibrant, and full of charm.”
The Whistling Kettle in Troy offers a warm atmosphere with a wide variety of teas and a solid food menu. I had the scone sandwich (sconewich), and it was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Their crepes and salads are also great, with plenty of vegetarian options.

The space is bright and inviting, though it can get a bit noisy during peak hours due to the high ceilings and crowds. Still, it’s a popular spot for a reason — the staff is friendly, the tea selection is extensive, and the food hits the mark.

Perfect for catching up with friends over brunch or enjoying a quiet tea moment (if you go at off-peak hours). Definitely worth a visit!

I stopped by The Whistling Kettle in Troy while visiting and had a great experience. The place has such a cozy and welcoming vibe and the staff was super helpful. We ended up buying a matcha set and it was really cool getting to smell and experience all the different teas before deciding. Definitely a fun spot for tea lovers and I’ll be coming back next time I’m in town.

Lovely tea cafe to hang out with your friends or family. The overall snacks and tea are amazing and delightful to sit down and relax and enjoy the lovely view of the farmers market, especially on Saturday! Totally recommend people to come here and enjoy their snacks and tea!

We visited this place three times. Their selection of tea is really good and try them out ice – pleasantly surprising! Their crepes are really good, both savory and sweet, and we really enjoyed the Tower Tea – choosing the quiche, salad, scone option. Yum. Service was alright – two visits were ‘okay’ but our second visit, our waitress was amazing giving recommendations and wonderful advice. Thank you! It was because of her we went back later that same day.

First time back here after many years, and love it as much now as I did before. My daughter enjoyed the caramel apple crepe and pot of French pressed coffee, and I had the Asian chicken salad and strawberry matcha drink. Food presentation was perfect, and we really liked our cozy table by the front window. Surprisingly, it didn’t feel too crowded at lunchtime, but there were many takeout orders while we were there. Planning my next visit – there’s so much on the menu that I’d like to try, especially the purple papayaberry lime tea (sold out)!

This place is really good. The atmosphere is very different as it is essentially a love child of a restaurant and a tea shop. Now picture that tea shop is in Seattle, but has the Northeast rustic chic, mixed with modern hipster decor…but time feels like 1890s. Get the Tower. Lobster Bisque, your sandwich, and the hazelnut crepe. Almost everything is fantastic. Tea is great. Unique setting, good food, reasonable price.

Fun spot for lunch, if a little “fancy” for someone with burger joint sensibilities. The scone on my BLT was a little dry, making it a little more challenging to eat, but it tasted good!

I threw myself a little tea party as a kind of self date thing. I cannot recommend this place more. Such a cozy atmosphere and an amazing place. They know their tea and they do it amazingly. They have so many options it can get overwhelming but omg the servers give fantastic recommendations. I got the tea sampler and I didn’t expect to get 4 full tea pots of teas to try. A lot of tea and each one was absolutely delightful. My favorite was the carrot cake and if you like carrot cake its a must try. And for a tea spot I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I got the afternoon tea witch is a full 3 course meal for $24. The roasted bell pepper and guda soup is a must have. Absolutely to die for. I also got the apple bacon 3 cheese sandwich and it was one of the most elegant but simple sandwiches I ever had. Perfect balance of salty and sweet. I want to give a huge shout out to my server katie. She was so sweet and friendly. When I mentioned I lost my earing backing she even offered me one. She’s the kind of person I genuinely want to be friends with. Service was fast and amazing. I spent 2 hrs there with an eBook and even made friends with a nice lady at the next table over. Definitely perfect for a nice cozy afternoon.

I had such a nice experience here! I came in alone for a pot of “honeybush cider” tea which was delicious with honey and sat at a window barstool and enjoyed the ambiance for a few minutes. Would come back!
