I went there twice and loved it every time. It is located by the creek and you can actually feel the Alaska vibe. It is an all you can eat buffet and the salmon is super tasty. It is located about 15 minutes drive from downtown area. It is quiet busy but the service is fast and there are plenty of places to seat. There is a souvenir shop and WC. They have their own shuttle and if you go on a tour you can catch the shuttle to downtown on your convenience. It is a magical place with an amazing waterfall and salmon swimming upstream. The staff and owners are very friendly. They have live music, usually a guitar/singer.

One of the highlights of our cruise! Such a peaceful place with wonderful food and scenery. All the seating is covered, and heaters are provided in cold weather. The food was tasty and plentiful. The salmon delicious and the cheese potatoes heavenly. Clam chowder was fabulous, and they offer wild blueberry cake and smores provided for dessert.
But the park itself was so lush, and peaceful to explore and photograph! From the old mine machinery to the beautiful waterfall, I wish we had had more time here. Flowers, tiny forest mushrooms, wild blueberry bushes, a musician singing old folk songs while softly playing guitar…. So restful!!

What a lovely experience! From the moment you step into the property you are immersed in the most beautiful setting, served delicious food, and can even enjoy a roasted marshmallow and the delightful music of the local performing artists. Highly recommend. Grab a souvenir from the cute little gift shop and take lots of pictures in all of the little corners that showcase area plants and woodwork!

The setting at Gold Creek Salmon Bake is beautiful…surprisingly tucked just off the main road, but it feels like you’re in the middle of the woods. The short walk to the nearby waterfall and old mine is a lovely bonus, with interpretive signs and a chance for kids to “pan for gold.”

The experience is definitely geared toward the cruise crowd. It is a high-volume and very touristy kind of place. The chowder station offers tiny sample cups, and the buffet includes salad, slaw, scalloped potatoes, beans, BBQ meats, and a separate area for grilled (not baked) salmon. Lemonade, coffee, and a tasty self-serve blueberry cake are included. Soda and alcohol cost extra.

Live music adds a nice touch, though I felt bad seeing a sign asking guests to tip the performer, it made it feel a bit awkward. There’s also a small gift shop onsite if you’re in the mood for souvenirs.

Overall, it was a fun and convenient outing with friendly vibes and nice scenery, but the food was just okay, not memorable. If you’re looking for a truly local, high-quality meal, you might be better off elsewhere. Recommended for first-timers wanting the “Alaska salmon bake” box checked.

One of the best spots we had food on our entire Alaskan cruise. This was the gem at the end of our entire day trip! Amazing food, great music and great atmosphere. Tables are snug right up against an active spawning stream! You can take a small 3-5min hike to a large waterfall for amazing scenery and great pictures! Besides incredible selection of food they also have a fire for roasting marshmallows! Highly recommend this to make a top priority stop while in town! 100% worth it!

The Gold Creek Salmon Bake was such a fun and memorable part of my trip to Juneau. The whole place feels like a hidden forest spot with a peaceful creek and a little waterfall right nearby. The food was delicious especially the salmon which was grilled over alder wood and had this amazing smoky flavor. There was also chowder ribs wild rice salad and a really good blueberry cake for dessert.

They had live music playing which made the whole experience even better and after eating I walked a short trail to check out the waterfall and even tried gold panning just for fun. The staff was super friendly and everything was really well organized. Even though it was a little rainy it didn’t matter at all since everything was covered and warm.

If you are visiting Juneau and want to enjoy good food in a beautiful outdoor setting this is definitely worth checking out.

I don’t know how people rave about the food being delicious here. But it was alright at best. If you’re used to having ethnic foods then the food at this place is bland!
I was so excited about the blueberry cake and it ended up being grossly sweet from the thick layer of powdered sugar on top. The cake it self was dry.

The only redeeming part is the beautiful scenery. It’s right by a creek and it does get cold as the sun goes down.

The employees besides the old chowder lady were nice.

Food
Our party of four adults had a delightful experience at the Gold Creek Salmon Bake. Even though two of us don’t eat fish, the ribs, sides, cake, and overall atmosphere ensured everyone had a wonderful time. The standout dish of the meal was undoubtedly the glazed salmon. While the sides were satisfactory, none were particularly memorable. The blueberry cake was light and moist, but it could be enhanced with a few more berries or a berry sauce for those who prefer an extra touch. I advise bringing wet wipes for the kids.

Shop
The small shop on-site featured a variety of gift options, from plush toys to jewelry and much more.

Atmosphere and Location
The salmon bake took place entirely outdoors, and we arrived via bus. It was a self-serve experience in a covered, open-air setting, accompanied by a guitar soloist. We appreciated the organization provided by the various stations, but families with young children may find it a bit challenging, as someone would need to look after the kids while others explored each station multiple times. The open bar offered canned soft drinks at an additional cost. Our group sampled everything and especially enjoyed the glazed salmon and blueberry cake. S’mores kits were available for free but had to be requested. This event is flexible, allowing you to come and go as you please before continuing your day. Be sure to check out the stunning waterfall located at the back of the property!

We loved this salmon bake after an afternoon gold panning in the creek. The food was plentiful and delicious, especially the grilled salmon. We also tried the local Amber Ale. Set in amongst the forest by the rushing Gold Creek with a picturesk waterfall and pay dirt for panning. There is also a small gift shop. A great evening of feasting before returning to our cruise liner by shuttle bus.
