The open salsa bar is what you expect for AZ. The “mild” salsa is slightly sweet, the “medium” is smoky and well rounded in terms of heat earning it a true medium grade, and the “hot” is fresh and is decently hot. 10/10 for variety. The guacamole salsa is mild and what you would expect. There are also cucumbers, limes/lemons to grab.
Tostada (shredded beaf): 10/10. The tostada is crunchy. The meat is savory. It’s what you want.
Asada Fries: 8/10. The refried beans make it excellent with a good twist.
The MonsterDog: 10/10. Definitely my favorite. Very well done.
Toritos: 3/10. Definitely finished my 3 just so I wouldn’t waste them.
Zombie burrito: 8/10 good and the salsas are excellent. I wish it was bigger for $12.99.
Cabeza tacos: 5.5/10. They are my favorite taco and were “meh”. Needed the salsa bar to spruce them up.
Horchata: as expected.
Coke: 10/10 for not serving Pepsi. And I got a free refill at the counter.
Would eat here again. A little pricy. There are tv’s all around with music. It’s not too loud.
I ordered online and had asked for NO refried beans and NO rice… and they still added them. Paid $1 more for a mixed meat and didnt really have alot of Alpastor.
Big portions too: SOOOOOOO good!!!
Customer service has been great every time. We’ve had our food stolen by third party delivery drivers a couple of times and Taco Monster fixed the issue each time even though I’m sure that loss hits them more than anyone. They didn’t hesitate to make it right.
I’m a vegetarian so I really appreciate that they have a dedicated section for meatless options. It makes ordering easy and I love when a restaurant takes the time to do that. My husband has tried half the menu by now and he’s a big fan of everything he’s had.
If you’re in Yuma, give Taco Monster a try at least once. It’s absolutely worth it.
Despite the restaurant being only about 25% full, it took over 30 minutes to get our food. When we asked why, we were told quesabirria “takes a long time.” That excuse doesn’t hold up. No taco shop should take 30 minutes or more to make tacos, period especially with light traffic.
We had already paid, so leaving wasn’t an option.
The tacos themselves were average at best. Nothing memorable, nothing that justified the wait. Bottom line: the food was not worth the time, and the experience didn’t come close to matching the hype.
