We sat down and asked if they had any lunch specials. Our waitress smiled immediately fell and she sent another waitress to serve us. This server appeared friendly and took our order. The person that brought out our food never smiled, she gave us the food and left. The Mongolian beef and shrimp fried rice was good but the hot and sour soup was a disappointment. The dominant ingredient was squares of tofu that were a bit chunky.

Had an excellent dining experience at Taipei in Cary. This place is a true gem for authentic and flavorful Asian cuisine.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a relaxed, comfortable vibe that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and small gatherings with friends or family.

The food was outstanding. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The balance of spices, textures, and presentation really stood out, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Portions were generous and everything came out hot and well prepared.

Service was also excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were happy to offer recommendations.

Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, great service, and a welcoming ambiance. Definitely one of the best spots in Cary for a satisfying and authentic meal, and a place I’ll gladly return to.

My go to restaurant!

I went during lunch time (for this specific experience) and the wait was incredibly short. I’ve gone during dinner hours and the wait is usually 30min to 1hr longer.

Extensive menu with traditional and Americanized dishes. I got the beef dry pot, spicy tripe (夫妻肺片), and a garlic vegetable. This is my usual staple 3, shared among 2 with leftovers to bring home.

Always a good time with good food.

We were visiting Raleigh and came here because it was highly recommended by our friends. Overall it was pretty good once we got over the fact that it was definitely not Taiwanese (made apparent when we looked at the menu), despite them choosing to name the restaurant Taipei 101.

The main disappointment in the food was that the Peking duck was not Peking duck, it was more like a regular roast duck, and it was a little dry. The buns were tiny and clearly packaged/frozen and a little freezer-burned because the bottoms were all hard. Maybe this was just not a popular dish.

As far as the other food, it was all pretty good! The beef scallion pancake was crispy. The spicy boiled fish was the main attraction and the most popular dish on the table. We got the jellyfish cucumber appetizer, and it was just right to cool down the spicy stuff. We also had the cumin lamb, beef flat noodles, and some veggies. They were all great.

I’d come back, but I wouldn’t order the duck again.

I’m absolutely obsessed. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant and if I lived in Cary I’d be there several times a week. I ordered the Sichuan cold noodles, which were the best I’ve ever had anywhere and I always order that, and the delicious griddle chicken. Portions were huge! And delicious!

We have a feast at Taipei 101!!

If you’re looking for bold flavors, spice, and a variety of textures, this place delivers. The spread we had featured crispy, spicy fried fish and chicken tossed with dried chili peppers, a flavorful lamb stir-fry, silky tofu with a light batter, and a bubbling hot pot filled with tender meat and vegetables in a rich, chili-laden broth.

The standout dish was the crispy fried fish—perfectly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a numbing heat from Sichuan peppercorns. The fried chicken had a similar preparation and was equally addictive. The tofu dish provided a nice contrast with its mild flavor and soft texture. The hot pot was hearty, comforting, and packed with umami.

The food was fantastic with well-balanced spice and deep flavors., if you happen to be in downtown Cary this spot is worth checking out!

First time trying this place and we will be going back! Everything was delicious! The portions are shareable, service was quick once we got seated, and the servers were polite.
We did wait a little while to be seated but that can be overlooked based on the other positives
We ordered Singapore Noodles, Pad Thai, General Tsos Chicken (w/ fried rice), two eggs rolls, and an order of egg drop soup.

I would recommend trying all dishes as they were equally tasty!

We tried Taipei 101 and ordered the Eggplant Garlic, Braised Veg Mushroom, and a small Egg Fried Rice. The eggplant dish was definitely the highlight—rich, flavorful, and well-prepared. The mushroom dish, however, was a bit disappointing—rubbery texture and lacked flavor. The fried rice was decent, I’d give it a 7/10. Service was good though—friendly and attentive staff. Overall, a mixed experience but worth a try for the eggplant alone.
