Azteca de Oro is one of my favorite places in Brandon. The atmosphere is warm, familiar, and welcoming. It is perfect for family dinners or a relaxed night out as a couple. We have been here many times, and it always feels comfortable.

On this visit, I ordered the salmon, and overall it was a great dish. The salmon was well cooked and topped with a green sauce that was slightly sour, fresh, and full of flavor. It complemented the fish very well. The vegetables, including broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and cauliflower, were fresh and tasted great, giving the plate a light and healthy feel.

The only thing that did not work for me was the white mayo-based sauce placed on the plate as a thin line. After tasting the salmon and vegetables and then tasting that sauce, it felt heavy and out of place. It did not match the healthy, clean flavors of the dish and changed the overall taste in a way that was not pleasant for me. In my opinion, the dish would be much better without it or with that sauce served on the side.

Aside from that detail, the quality of the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere keep us coming back. Azteca de Oro remains a place we truly enjoy and continue to visit.

Great service. Very friendly people. Very nicely decorated. Very comfortable atmosphere. Nice place. Great for a date. Upscale Mexican food at a fair price. Homemade salsa was really good! Alberto was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. David was a great bartender and was always around when we needed them.

This is an upscale Mexican restaurant. The decor inside is very nice. We went on Sunday which has Happy Hour drink specials all day. Had the most awesome 4 cheese and chicken nachos. It didn’t look like much, but was fully packed with shredded chicken and lots of cheese. I would definitely get this again and probably won’t share it. Next we shared beef fajitas with corn tortillas. Personally I didn’t like them. The beef was bland, no seasoning on them. It was nicely cooked, but the corn tortilla had more flavor and it was all I tasted. If I try the fajitas again, it probably will be the chicken ones. The cost for both plus ice tea was $55. A bit pricey for me, this may be a place to go on special occasions. Or just to get the chicken nachos only and maybe try a margarita .

This Mexican restaurant has an upscale vibe that’s perfect for a get-together, date night, or any special occasion. The atmosphere is elegant yet warm, and the attention to detail really elevates the experience.

The food is a bit on the pricier side, but it’s worth every penny. Every dish reminded me of Mexico—rich flavors, authentic seasoning, and that unmistakable taste of real Mexican cooking done right. It’s the kind of place that brings back memories of true, traditional Mexican food.

If you’re looking for authentic flavor with an elevated dining experience, this spot delivers. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates excellent Mexican cuisine.

Our experience is always next to none but Blanquita took it top notch tonight. Her personality, professionalism and warm demeanor was everything. She is such a light and didn’t hesitate to answer any of our questions. I always come back for the food but the service definitely stepped up tonight thanks to her.

My husband and I had the best dinner here last night. I love the atmosphere and our service was top notch! I can’t wait to go back! My steamed veggies were perfection. Usually restaurants over cook those and they come out all watery. Not these! Every single thing on our plates was heaven.

Food was really tasty and served fast! Drinks were delicious this is the watermelon margarita pictured! Refried beans were the best I’ve had in a while in a restaurant setting. Flour tortillas could use some love but they aren’t terrible they were sitting to long before served in my opinion.

My expectations were high for this Mexican restaurant. The photos of the food looked delicious and gave the impression of authentic Mexican cuisine.

While I believe most dishes are true Mexican, some seem borrowed from Tex-Mex cuisine and, I would even say, from Cuban cuisine. I decided to order something simple, so I went with the burrito.

Dish size is good, the ingredients inside the burrito were flavorful, and I would like to try them in another presentation to fully appreciate their distinctive taste. However, the sauce poured on top could use some improvement. It was a tomato-based sauce that resembled a distant cousin of ketchup more than an authentic Mexican salsa. It lacked complexity and the bold, fresh flavor that a true Mexican salsa should bring to complement the main dish. The same could be said about the salsa served with the chips—it didn’t have that fresh, vibrant quality.

As for the service, the experience was disappointing. I was escorted to a table and waited for some time before realizing that the bartender, not the waitress, was responsible for my table. Unfortunately, she seemed more interested in chatting with a patron at the bar, despite being able to see me since my arrival.

At some point during the wait (before the bartender finally approached), another staff member brought chips and salsa. During dinner, drink refills also took longer than expected.

When I requested the check, that too took quite a while to arrive.

Your experience may vary, just publishing my 2 cents…

Food was pretty good. Liked 1 out of 3 meals. Was very windy on patio and difficult to eat.

Birria was messy even without sauce and not that flavourful.
Steak in Burrito was tough.
Mixed fajitas were pretty good.
