Large and spacious. Pic your items on the screen and place your order. I prefer a live person myself. Tried the salmon burrito however there is no burrito. Grilled salmon over rice with a few extras. The branzino dish was much better. A bit pricey but the food is good.

12/13/2025: Last night we ate too much fried food. CA Fish Grill is good for a lighter meal. We had the everything protein bowl $12, cajun swai taco combo $14, shrimp avocado salad $13.75, branzino fish plate $16 and garlic bread $4. The same thing happened, it took about 20 minutes for the food to come out as it was busy. The food tasted good. We all enjoyed it. Their soda selection is decent. It ranged from cherry cream soda, Pepsi, root beer, ice tea and vanilla cream soda. The only drawback is I was hungry about 3 hours later. I knew this would happen so I ordered another branzino fish plate for to-go.

Original review: This is an OK California Fish Grill location. The San Mateo one is better. It look about 20 minutes for my food to come out as they were busy. I had the swai fish plate with slaw, fries, extra fish $18.75, side of Greek salad $2 and garlic bread $3. The food tasted OK.

Meh
The staff were friendly and kind but the food was way way too greasy!
I had a fish and chips and the fish and the fries were way too salty and greasy that it was hard to eat. The fish was also over cooked don’t overcook the fish! One thing I would like to see improved is less salt and greasy fries and the fish not too overcooked!

Come here often. This location served me salmon weighing only 96 grams that equates to about 19 grams of protein when the advertised portion is 41grams of protein. I was shocked by how small the portion was. The Brussel sprouts portion was so small. Less than half the container full and you can see the bare white bottom of the container because of how much space there was; upsetting giving it’s an extra $3.50 charge for these. The fries, not pictured, were soaking wet. Completely soggy as if they were dunked in water prior to serving.

If you want fast casual seafood this is it. Menu has changed for the healthier since it opened 6+ years ago. Kale slaw is surprisingly good for someone who doesn’t like eating veggies. Don’t overdo it with the yummy butter sauce, but WTH you only live once. The coconut shrimp was amazing with the Asian inspired dipping sauce. Place has changed over the years. They replaced human cashiers with touch screen kiosks. This can make ordering slow if you’re unfamiliar with the extensive menu. Staff is friendly so it doesn’t hurt to tip them. You leave your plates at the table and the staff come through to bus the tables like a normal restaurant.

I must say, eating here was most pleasant! I was under a lot of stress last night so I decided to get a bite to eat and treat myself. The employees were very kind and attentive to my needs, the young men and a taller guy maybe Hispanic guy treated me very nicely so I’m going to definitely be going back. It was relaxing after a long busy day! Please keep up the good work! Happy new year!

Parking: free parking, but very busy over the weekend.

I have seen many locations across the bay area.

Food: Most of the foods are grilled or fried. All of them are tasty and fresh. Many fish choices, sauces, and sites to choose from. My favorite sauces are garlic butter and Cajun. The fish and chips are very good with tartar sauce. The grilled sea bass fish are very flavorful and would recommend having sauce on the side.

Price: very reasonable price for portions of food.

There is a latina woman server here at this particular place that is extremely rude with a bad attitude that got my kids order all wrong but yet she did not apologize and did not say sorry. My kids asked her for lemon and salsa but rather than simply providing it she rather argue with my innocent kids. Very very bad service here. And the food is somewhat burnt that we told the server but yet she did not care. This is why I am not recommending this place to folks out there!!!!

First: fish tacos & kaleslaw: yum. Salted mango drink = just right not too sweet. BUT, very slow service of all our meals AND the Mac n’Cheese came last of all and looked & tasted like cheese-colored pudding. Macaroni was hardly detectable in the mush. The polite, apologetic supervisor kindly offered a refund or replacement side-dish, admitting the Mac n’Cheese is heated from frozen, not made fresh. My replacement, roasted Brussels sprouts, were delightful. So, just AVOID THE MAC N’CHEESE. It should be removed from the menu.
