Sooo i was scrolling on Facebook when i got an ad for S&M for their Valentine’s Day dinner ! I figured well i might as well go as the menu looked really good !
Well it was 10000% worth it all due to the amazing support and service from our server Taylor!! (He alone is worth 5 stars) I love the genuine smile and service he gave with the conversation! He was such a delight!
You see the last time I went to state and main I hated it. The idea of eatting in such a dimly lit place and drinking out of Madison jars irked. But this time I was blown away.
Soo my boyfriend and I ordered (see photos):
– the caesar (really good balance of crunchy and leafy bits of romaine lettuce)
– the bang bang shrimp ( it was really well prepared visually but I feel like the batter was a bit undercooked? Not as crispy as I wanted it but the sauces and the serving were greaaat )
– ohh I had ask Taylor about their mocktls and I went with the RASPBERRY DRAGON FRUIT NO-JITO (raspberry purée, dragon fruit, fresh mint, lime juice & soda) ! It was pretty good too bee honest really refreshing!!
For our entrees we got:
– Truffle & Shrimp Rigatoni
crispy prosciutto, mushrooms, parmesan w/ black truffle cream sauce
(It was okay.. it was a bit simple but for someone who is looking for something with a creamy cheese texture this would be it)
And he got: Honey Glazed Cajun Chicken
blackened chicken breast finished w/ honey & creole butter. served w/ mashed potatoes & veggie mix (substituted)
The chicken was really flavourful it worked nicely with the creamy mashed potatoes and the veggies were a nice touch of colour and garlic flavour not to overly cooked either
Lastly for dessert was the brownie!!
A little bit dryer than expected but with the scoop of ice cream it was good!
I should add the serving sizes here was impressive and we were soo full after our meal!! Once again Taylor you were amazing and please ask for him when you go!!

I very much enjoy State and Main in Cambridge and have become a loyal regular. This location has ample parking and is located conveniently in the same parking lot as the Cambridge Mall.
It is always a pleasure to see the waitresses Jacqueline and Victoria.
They both give terrific service and are always friendly and welcoming.
I appreciate them very much for always making a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.
The food is very good. Here are a few dishes I would highly recommend.
To start I would go with the tasty Bang Bang Shrimp with the sriracha aioli & unagi sauce. It comes with a big portion to share or take home and have later.
If it is cold outside you should have the bacon tomato soup. It comes with a bunch of little garlic cheese breads.
For a main you will not be disappointed with the pistachio crusted salmon. I sub my mashed potatoes and asparagus with double vegetables and it is my favourite.
I look forward to dining here again soon!

I’ve always been loyal to the Waterloo location, but after one unforgettable evening at the Cambridge State & Main, I’ve officially found my new favourite spot—and it’s all thanks to Becky, the incredible general manager.
From the moment she took our reservation over the phone, Becky made us feel like VIPs. She asked if we were celebrating anything special, and we casually mentioned it was just a date night. What she did next blew us away: she reserved a beautifully intimate corner table, quiet and cozy—perfect for the kind of night we were hoping for.
The service was flawless, and the food? Next level. We started with the bang bang shrimp and the brussels sprouts—both absolutely delicious. Paired with a stunning bottle of wine, it was the kind of meal you remember. It was the perfect way to cap off an already exciting day celebrating the grand opening of Harley-Davidson at Apex.

Looking around for some random places within an hour bike ride of us to try out. Happened across this establishment. Myself and my gf, both thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Very well thought out, plates, both visually and flavor wise. Staff were great. Inside has a nice ambiance. Definitely will eat here again.

This hands down is one of my favourite places in town. I came here for lunch with my sister and we were so appreciative of how friendly our server was and the food quality. The Bang Bang Shrimp is always fresh, crispy and juicy, while the tuna tartare was delicious even tho the rice was a little too deep fried this time. We also got the Jalapeno Burger which is a special until early December and well worth trying! Everything was cooked fresh and tasted fantastic, and we even got a side Caesar salad for free since our order was mixed up on accident. The staff all said hello and goodbye which doesn’t feel like a norm nowadays. You need to try this place if you haven’t already! Very well executed

We had a fantastic dining experience at State & Main. The steak and fries were cooked to perfection — flavorful, tender, and exactly what we hoped for. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive and everything arrived incredibly fast. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.

We waited a long time for our food. I ordered a steak, and my husband ordered a main dish with two patties. Unfortunately, both meals were very disappointing. My wife’s steak was extremely hard to chew and swallow, and my husband’s dish did not taste good at all and lacked flavor.
Because the steak was so hard, she couldn’t finish it and had to ask the staff to pack it to take home. For the price we paid, we expected much better quality. Overall, this was not a good experience, and we won’t be returning.
