The restaurant is clean! The staff are all very courteous and knowledgeable. The chef has years of experience and it shows. The music is jazzy from a long gone era that oozes with sophistication and pairs well with fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. As you can see in my pictures the steak is tender enough to cut with a butter knife. The flavors are magnificent. I could write a book about this little hidden gem in Murphy but instead I would rather just encourage you to go enjoy one of the best dining experiences that you will ever experience which is comparable to any major city across the nation but you won’t have to deal with the usual hustle and bustle of a big city dining experience. I have been here a few times now and have chosen this for my new go to place to relax while enjoying an excellent meal. Also they offer a fully stocked bar with some very unique choices for beer and spirits. As a world traveller I am very picky about what I eat and where after having the opportunity to enjoy some of the best of the best authentic dishes from many countries. I wholeheartedly recommend that you go dine here. You will be glad that you did. If they don’t already have a Michelin endorsement, they will!!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Steak had an amazing charred exterior with delicious flavor from the onion jam and butter. Great atmosphere and vibes too. I will definitely come back to this place.

The new owner Scott has added such warmth to this place! Very welcoming! The food is amazing!!! New Years Eve, we were the last ones to be seated, because they were so busy, they ran out of food. In spite of that, the filet and scallops were the best I have ever had in my life!!!! The filet was literally like cutting through butter. Cooked to perfection, med rare. This place is such and unexpected gem. I hope word gets out,to all our surrounding cute little towns, so they will come and support this wonderful restaurant. I hope it does well for a long time to come. It’s so great to have such a wonderful little place to go. Watching Scott and his staff grill is a show in itself. This place will not disappoint. Thank you Scott for making our evening so memorable. I will always remember that meal.Working in the food industry for many years, fine dining, I can count on one hand how many meals I’ve had that were memorable and this one, I can add to the list.

A perfect first stop on our road trip.
Atmosphere – Warm, welcoming, accommodating. Food was freshly prepared and delicious! The best Guinness cheese sauce I’ve ever eaten and the gravy for the bangers & mash was on point. Shepherds pie meat tender & nicely seasoned. Mr. Brett behind the bar is a gem who is love of beer is literally on display with his clever wall arrangement of the Parson’s offerings that acts as their beer menu. Will gladly find reasons to visit this area again just so we can stop in.

My friend and I came in for the first time very excited to try the “new” Parson’s. We shared a steak dinner which included a small salad. I ate the peperoncino from the salad not thinking my friend loved them so we asked for another. Our server came back and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t give you another peperoncino, only one per salad.” My mouth fell open. Then we ordered quite an expensive cut of steak, medium rare and what we got was medium well. They were closing so we told the woman carrying a spiral notebook not to worry (my friend is in the business and didn’t want to cause any issues) but could we get an extra pepper to go with our salad. She apologized for the steak and brought us one little pepper. REALLY?? This is not the manor of etiquette I’d expect coming from a high end steakhouse. Very disappointing first visit. Do better.

First time there since new ownership. At first I was disappointed that I couldn’t order the flat bread Ruben appetizer but after looking at new menu, we decided to order the filet with mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. The food was amazing. We will definitely return

Great experience last night. Our first visit and we absolutely loved the wood fired filet mignon..This place is a must! One more positive thought. Present those outstanding steaks on a sizzling iron skillet. What a presentation that would make for your superior steaks!

My friend and I visited Poor Parsons Pub late Friday afternoon. Apparently, it was a soft opening. I’ve been to Parson’s before and said I would never return, however when we learned it was under new ownership/management we thought we’d give it a try. The vibe in the restaurant was casual but a but a bit classy. It didn’t feel like I was walking into “CHEERS” where the floor needed mopping and seemed dingy. We met and talked to the Manager. Very friendly and personable. Apparently, the owner has more restaurants in other states and this manager opens for the owner and makes sure things run properly. It felt like he has very high expectations, which is greatly appreciated. We ended up ordering a of couple appetizers. The truffle parmesan fries were absolutely to die for. I am not a big french fry person but I could have eaten the entire plate! I had bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeño cream cheese filling baked in a buttery sauce. OH MY! They were delicious. The chef popped up to our table and gifted us a basket of fried oysters! I am not an oyster person but I tried them and was amazed. The chef was also very personable and seemed very aware of the patrons and their food. He is most definitely a gifted chef. My friend tasted two of their beers, her being a person who enjoys good beer, she was impressed. I now have a different outlook on Parson’s Pub. I am sure we will be regulars.
