At our McDonough, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Unfortunately my fish was not cooked all the way and I brought it to the Indian guy in there and all he kept saying is that they use a timer…I’m from Louisiana and I know what cooked fish look like without using a timer. Instead of just fixing the problem he just proceeds To tell me that they sell a lot of fish and that nobody complains. Well ok buddy I’m complaining and I’ll post pic…just because the batter is a certain color doesn’t mean the fish is done! I don’t have to worry about me returning… that’s how people get sick! If I want uncooked fish I could just get sushi. And ur Customer service sucks by the way!

Compared to the condition of other local Captain D’s restaurants, this one was cleaner and more pleasant than most. The person that took my order was s bit leery of me on sight as soon as I entered…I’m not sure why but I won’t offer my speculations here. Nevertheless the food was recently made and good. The overall experience was good and worth the drive.

We did a drive thru for this place. The food was awful, sorry, but I felt sick after eating it. My husband grew up in this area, we were visiting family. He said Captain D’s was good when he was little. It obviously no longer taste good.

We ordered the family meal, sides were fried okra, & green beans which tasted good but whereas the fish was disgusting as well as the tartar sauce. We each agreed, something was very off with it. For a first time experience having bad fish with Captain D’s for over 30 years, I’d try their fish again as it’s historically been consistently decent imo. I dont recommend this location as i’d never dine here again.

I ate the $5.99 Fish, Shrimp and Fries Special, with hush puppies, all of which were well-prepared and tasty.
The manager takes pride here and provides excellent service by being helpful with orders and by doing his part to keep the place clean.

This Captain D’s sucks there are only two people that work there the cook and the drive-through person I guess they are the owners of the place. They are very rude and the food is not all that great either for a Captain D’s they should not even be serving people they have the rudest demeanor of any Captain D’s and why is there only the owners of this place working there, and he is very rude, and has no customer service expertise I will never go back to this Captain D’s ever again bad customer service to the max. Don’t recommend this restaurant

“You only got 3pc fish why you want 6 sauce?” Like, I dip other stuff then just fish, like fries, hush puppies, ect. Just because you don’t doesn’t necessarily mean someone else won’t.
Like, if I’m willing to pay for my extra sauce, stop judging me and just give it to me. You already expensive for mediocre food.

This is one of the best Captain D’s I’ve been to! The food is ALWAYS fresh and I come at times and it’s always perfect! They should have a 5 rating ☺️

I always order 2-3 sides of their fried okra with a little crisp every time I pass by because they use fresh okra and make them fresh. Absolutely the best! The butterfly shrimp dinners are great too. They always have an “A” grade every time and are so friendly. Definitely recommend!
