Our Family Kitchen never misses. We pretty much had a repeat of last time: I had the liver and onions (absolutely the best), and my husband got the chicken fried steak—very good, with a delicious cream gravy.
There was about a 20-minute wait, but it was well worth it. One of my “restaurant truth serum” tests is the iced tea, and theirs is really good.
If you’re in Rockport, make the effort to eat here.

I always have a great meal here. The liver and onions were perfect. Mom’s burger was delish. Hubby had a chicken fried steak with white gravy. Both the brown and white gravy were really nice. The sides, mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent. I could have eaten just a plateful of the green beans. Hubby had the banana pudding for dessert and it tasted just like my grandmother used to make.

This is a lunch review & disappointing. Chicken fried chicken sandwich okay, but weird sweet-sour pickles, sorta crispy chicken on Texas toast. Mayo or mustard? In packets they throw on table–and not name brand. Okra crispy but a dark brown. Onion rings look great but soggy. Side salad iceberg, few tomatoes, and bland cheese. Chicken fried sandwich was little tough meat with lots of extra breading to fit bread. Texas toast bread meh. Not much tea in tea, tasted like lite water. Waiter serviceable but didnt check in. We’ve had breakfast here several times and okay. Definitely better than lunch. BTW, noisy, lots of little ones. If you have them please try to control them.

This place is awesome!!! I will back for sure. Great service, food, and atmosphere. The family kitchen is very popular place. Be prepared for a little line, but it’s worth it. Portions are big and the price is right. You will love your meal and experience.

I wish I could give this place a 10 star for how amazing it was. The pancakes were super soft and light and add ins just melted in your mouth. Literally magical. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and it’s such a cute family atmosphere. Oh and the bathroom. They have really cool flushers. Did I mention the flushers?

Solid breakfast place. Friendly folks, good food and service. Biscuits are excellent, very hearty. Prices are in line with most places. The lunches I’ve had were good as well, seemed a little pricey but where are they not anymore? Thanks Bidenomics!!! Can be busy at times, if the lot is full and some cars parked along the road you may have a little wait but they turn tables quickly. And if you slip the hostess a couple of bucks you may land a booth with a window and scenic view of the lumber yard across the street 😉

I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was so tough that I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife. I was going to get something else, but my husband was already finished with his meal. When it came to paying . I was charged for the two sides that I didn’t even eat ! Clearly on their menu side are $2.99. We were charged $3.49 for each ? Their ice tea and coffee are also very weak . Good service !

Great place for a casual lunch. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, which was served 5 minutes after ordering. Really good and fresh. Portion size was good for the price.
