Their about 45 minutes out of from us. But I’m happy to make that trip food is always amazing full of Italian flavor. Everyone is so nice there. Very comfortable place to eat. And their price is very affordable. Not only will I be coming back. I’ll come back often

Shopping at the Outlet Mall of the Bluegrass, we decided to search for an Italian place nearby. We did not want to eat at the mall, and picked Milano for the first time. We were absolutely floored by the delicious the food! We ordered Tortellini Buddeke. The restaurant was very accommodating changing the sauce on our pasta dish. The homemade red sauce was very rich, full of flavor, seasoned well, and not overly sweet. The smaller tortellini had cheese inside that was creamy texture and not in the least bit dry. The pasta was cooked well (not too soft, but not straight al dente). The peas mixed in was a unique and welcome addition. The mushrooms were well cooked. The prosciutto gave it a variation in texture, and a nice salty touch. The breadsticks covered with parmesan cheese were wonderfully soft inside with a crunch to the crust along the top, back edge, and bottom, and paired very well with the sweet marinara.
Although we got take out, the patio space was very nice looking and the indoor decor was very mom and pop’s charming while keeping some elevated class present in many Italian restaurants.
Needless to say, we will become regulars and be making excuses to drive the hour to eat here!!!

I went here because my girl said it was her favorite Italian place before I brought her to grassi grama (my favorite place). So I’m like yeah okay, all excited to try it blah blah, we get there, everything’s cool and reasonably priced, extensive menu, I find what I want (the seafood Alfredo) it has shrimp and crab right? So the waiter (not older than 19) is like “are we ready to order?” And I’m like “yeah I just have one question, the seafood Alfredo, is the crab real or imitation because I can’t eat imitation crab, she’s like “everything we serve here is authentic” I’m like okay good because if not I can get something else, and she’s like no it’s real. So fast forward we order our food and a bottle of wine ($35) to split with me and the wife, get our bread, waiting and snacking on bread, I notice the bread taste like the first loaf of bread I ever made, and I’ve only made 1 loaf in my entire life (wasn’t very good at all) I’m like whatever maybe it’s just something traditional, so we get our salads that come with the meal (they’re great) eat all those, and then our meal comes.
Immediately I see that it’s imitation crab. Long story short, I let them know it’s fake, the guy who served the food stops by and hears my issue and looks at her and says “you told him it was real crab??” And she’s like yeah. So i ask for a discount they say the cant do that! They’re like we can get our manager, I’m like yes please get them, she brings back the other 20 year old waiter (not the manager?) And then this girl had the audacity to tell me that “it’s authentic crab” I started laughing like I freaking know this girl isn’t about to just double down on her lie, so I take a peice of the crab and peel the layers back and im like, “have you seen real crab? This is not real crab ma’am” anyway my wife steps in realizing im about to say something rude and just asks them politely if they could add some extra shrimp, they obliged and I paid the $100 bullshit bill and still left a tip. But will never be back and I hope this review serves the truth to people who want to go out and actually have a nice authentic Italian meal and not stress about their night.

First time going to this restaurant. First we were seated in a smaller room off from the main dining room. No problem there except there was a strange offensive odor. We asked if we could be seated elsewhere and were accommodated immediately.
The meal was nothing but delicious. The food was piping hot and the taste was unimaginably well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our server Felix was attentive and professional. Not one aspect of his service was unacceptable. Polite, informative, and helpful. On Sundays it 10% off for senior citizens and when I ask if I got 10% off he assured me absolutely I would. The issue I had with Milano is that when we got the bill, I had not been given the senior discount and the item I ordered had a higher price on the bill than on the menu. I addressed this with Felix and he went to ask and get it corrected. The next bill they had given me, the senior discount was applied but they had not adjusted the price of the meal to the price listed in the Menu. I once again pointed it out and told Felix it was fine we’d pay it but I just wanted them to be aware of the discrepancy because it made their business look dishonest. However Felix took my receipt once again and had it adjusted. It’d be a shame if such a nice restaurant got a bad reputation of showing one price and making it seem they were scamming people by charging the higher price.
A great dining experience and I hope whoever is in charge of doing the menus and settling prices read this review and make the necessary adjustments needed to improve certain aspects of this dining experience.

Even though I had a few incidental hiccups one of the best places I’ve eaten.

This place is so cozy inside with its italian decor and soft lighting in its main dining area, the service was great and the food was terrific. My only regret was not ordering the Calzone that I watched being carried out of the kitchen every few minutes to other tables, but I’ll be trying that next. The food was good and the price was very reasonable we will be going back.

Placed a pick-up order over the phone at 6:19. We were told it would take an hour since it was Valentine’s Day and they were busy. We understand, no big deal. We get there a little over an hour later, at 7:45 it was still not ready… And even though the food was still hot, the noodles in the chicken picatta was very dry. The fried ravioli seemed like frozen snack food tossed in the air fryer. Just not something you expect for the costs on their menu.

I can’t rate the food because I did not get any.
This is the third time that the takeout service was bad. I ordered on the phone and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I drove 25 minutes to get there and was then told it would be over an hour longer. Another customer in front of me had the same experience. When I told the manager that I was told 30 minutes on the phone she said “I don’t know who took your order, it will be an hour”.

I love your food but I am done. It is too risky to drive 30 minutes to pick it up.

I do not do this EVER, but tonight threw me over the edge. I would love nothing more than for the resident of Shelbyville to STOP giving your money to MILANOS!!!
This is far from my first horrific experience, but I keep trying to eat local.

Order placed for pickup at 6:30, time given to pickup 7:20.
Arrived at 7:20, no one acknowledged me so I waited till 7:40 to ask about my order. They came out and said it was being prepared.
After watching multiple other customer leave frustrated and without food I waited again until 8:05 to ask about my order.
Wait for it… they don’t have my order.
I was told I need to call door dash and ask for a refund!!
I asked to speak with the manager… she saying right in front of me and won’t make eye contact with me because she’s the one who lied previously and said it was being prepared.

I could say a million more things…
I am furious and hungry and fully understand this is a minor inconvenience to my evening… my issue is the blatant lying and ridiculous way this has been handled by a local business.

Had I been the only one with a poor experience, or had this been my first experience with terrible management at this establishment I would tuck my tail and hush, but enough is enough.
Milanos leadership SUCKS!!!
