We stopped by Denny’s Latin Cafe for coffee on the recommendation of a local. We’re not sure what the locals are thinking, because it really wasn’t that good. It’s more of a little diner (dive), more than a cafe. The place wasn’t particularly clean, seemed very old too.
The coffee was OK, and we had a couple of empanadas, which were warm, not hot, and pretty greasy. The service was OK, but the staff wasn’t very welcoming or friendly. If we get to the area again, we’ll take a pass on Dennys!

Do yourself a favor and skip the lines at McDonald’s and Starbucks—you can get amazing coffee at this place! The food is fresh and delicious. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, so you can order whatever you’re in the mood for.

This is always our first stop after flying into the Keys—no exceptions. There are so many must-tries here. If it’s your first visit, start with the ropa vieja, the masita de puerco, or their Cuban sandwich—pressed perfectly, loaded with flavor, and absolutely worth the hype. You really can’t go wrong.
On my last visit, I tried El Jefe—think of it as a wrap stuffed with rice, black beans, chicken or pork, and platanitos. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
And whatever you do, put their homemade mojo on everything. It’s so good I buy bottles to take home.
This little gem never disappoints: great service, incredible food, and a nostalgic vibe that just hits right every time.

Went for a snack. Hard in the Keys to find vegan food. Dennys has rice, beans and most importantly maduros. They also have a salad and tostones for the vegans.

Oh my… it was delicious. My daughter, who is very picky, ended up eating half of my cubano because she said it smelled so good and once she tried it she was hooked.
We ordered online and it was ready when they said it would be. Walked into the restaurant and was greeted right away with a friendly hello.
We got chicken, beef and spinach empanadas and the plantains. I thought the spinach was the best. We also ordered chicken kids meal and they came with tons of chicken fingers and fries.
Haven’t left the island yet but we will be back for sure! I enjoy supporting local eateries that provide delicious food.

Great service And a great sandwich. My 16 year old loved it!!! Was so nice to order online and bring back to our resort and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommend!

Found the perfect spot at Denny’s Latin Cafe in Key Largo! This unassuming gem combines traditional diner favorites with authentic Latin flavors for a truly unique Florida Keys experience. Their Cuban sandwich was absolutely phenomenal – perfectly pressed with the ideal balance of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on authentic Cuban bread that was crispy outside and soft inside.

We had an excellent lunch at Denny’s Latin Cafe today and the service was spot on. We were a big group but they timed our meals perfectly. I was able try multiple dishes as we all swapped and shared. Fried pork chunks, fried grouper, shrimp enchilados, vaca frita, steak sandwich, Caesar salad all were great. Definitely worth a stop. Make sure you get the rum cake for dessert!
