I love going to China Restaurant Spicy! Whether at their old location or their current one, the food has always been amazing—full of bold flavors and authentic taste. The staff is super friendly and makes every visit feel special.

The food was great and the waiters as well. However the allergens were unfortunately not in the menu for all items. The waiter was very nice and communicated my allergies and to the kitchen who then “changed” my dish appropriately which tasted super nice! However I still would have prefered if I could have seen the allergens on the menu and chosen the dish myself.

It’s hot pot, it’s going to be hot and steamy. The food and options were amazing but I had a feeling that the restaurant didn’t have the proper ventilation system because walking to the ingredients I had the feeling I was in a cloud. It smelled like heaven but it felt like walking through a restaurant kitchen. I thoroughly enjoyed it regardless.

Delicious and reasonable price. Your need to book the table otherwise it’s mostly full all the occasions like weekends, holiday or evening. Drinks are NOT included in the hotpot buffet menu. The food is okay but not so much vegetables and there’s no dumpling like other places. In general, it’s a good place for hotpot when you’re far away from Asian countries.

I would recommend booking in advance as the place can get busy. If it is your first time doing hot-pot this is definitely a good first experience, I would definitely recommend speaking to the staff before you order if you have any questions as they are happily open to answer anything.
It’s pretty much €30 (depends on whichever broth you decide to choose from) per person for an all you can eat hot pot. There’s a lot to choose from and they also offer dessert as well. The quality & quantity of food you can choose from is amazing and we had an authentic dining experience. The staff were amazing and consistently checked on our table.
10/10. This place will thrive. Will definitely come back when I visit Hamburg again!

Love the hotpot here, it tastes so good just like in Asia. There are a lot of Chinese customers, shows the food is authentic Chinese hotpot. You get an individual hotpot and you fill up it your choice of food.
Varieties of meat, seafood, vegetables, mushrooms and tofu. There are some fruits available too. The choice of ice cream looks like a cheap grade ice cream.
Love their sauces bar, lots of selection.
Service is slow, hard to get hold of service staff.

If you have experienced hot pot before, this might be a disappointment. The condiments and meats/fish are available buffet-style. So if you don’t mind buffet you will be okay. We don’t like buffets, and this experience confirmed our view. The whole area was messy and unappetizing. We lived in various places in Asia, and have visited China more than fifty times. We have eaten hot pot in various places in China, and never saw it served like this. Neither have we experienced such poor food quality.
The waitress was very friendly, but she was the exception. The male waiters were unfriendly and uninterested. The meat quality was poor, especially the beef. The dumplings tasted strangely. We liked the induction cook top tables, but that didn’t make up for the poor food quality. Once you have added drinks (we had only water, soft drinks, and one beer) and some appetizers the cost is easily €40 or more per person.
The interior is very spartan (which is an overstatement) and don’t look too closely in the fridges and freezers – they are not clean, and neiter are the areas where food is prepared, which you can see from the dining part of the restaurant. Oh, and don’t use the restrooms – they are absolutely disgusting.
For €40 per person there are many far better options for Asian food in Hamburg.

As a Chinese, the Hunan-style food is really authentic. 10 out of 10. The owner was very friendly and warm-hearted, we accidentally parked our car in the wrong place and police towed the car… The owner helped us call the police and helped us retrieve the car! Very responsible and kind of him. Would come back again next time when visiting Hambourg! Recommended!!!
