We celebrated Mom’s 100th birthday yesterday and this was the marvelous cake we got from Marv’s!!! It was fantastic and so beautiful! I ordered it in August and they were very helpful when I twice changed the flavors and pick up date. It was half marble cake w/pineapple filling and half devil’s food with strawberry filling. The fillings were not too sweet and had wonderful fresh fruit inside. Everyone enjoyed it and the birthday girl was tickled. Thank you very much!!! (they did not provide the cake topper, that was ours). While picking up cake we got 2 of their pizza breads from the bakery side, never saw them there before and were hungry from party set up. Oh my goodness, so good! Thanks again!

I usually give my bakery high praise, but not for the horrible birthday cake they created for me. Two weeks prior to my October 30 birthday. My wife and daughter ordered a cake from ours and when they got there to pick it up somehow the bakery never created the cake in a rush they took a vanilla cake with layers of cheery preserve, which is the same that they use in their danish, which is delicious, but they didn’t freeze the cake so when they put this brown frosting on top and decorated it for my birthday and gave it to my daughter with no discount or apology or whatever for such a shabby job, we got it to my house where within the cake actually collapsed like the leaning tower of PISA. In Italy, this was a horrible, horrible birthday cake for me and I was so disappointed in it. We ate it. I had no choice and it was just embarrassing. I just don’t know what to say. I cannot believe that this travesty just did not give me a real happy warm birthday that my grandkids had prayed for the love I got from a family overshadowed this cake and it’s just a cake. I know that but for what ever my daughter paid for it. this cake was not worth it and I’m totally disappointed. No restitution was offered no Nada nothing he just packaged the cake gave it to her and sent her on her way. I might sound selfish, but for the work and effort that my wife and daughter put in for me and the love they shared with me. I’m just disappointed that Mars didn’t do anything to console their sadness when they brought the cake to our family.

The inside was a bit small had to kind of maneuver around ppl and it was a bit chaotic. The food was amazing though went to get some snacks for my daughters birthday. The cookies were pretty basic but still tasty I only got chocolate chip nothing fancy. We also got a fudge ripple cake which was to die for! The icing was amazing not too rich or sweet and the cake itself was soft! I will definitely be returning i saw some other things i definitely want to try. Only went to the bakery side. They also had an assortment of fresh breads.

This is a great bakery that I visited on my son’s recommendation. I have enjoyed several of their baked items, a loaf of their bread and a few cookies. Their quality is consistent and good. I have not purchased anything from the meat market but it looks very good. If you need a sweet or a bit of protein this be a place you should explore.

Marvs is a throw back to a time in which people actually cared about food: making it, baking it, eating it. The cakes and steaks are phenomenal. The service is fast and friendly. The customer area is cramped. Parking is plenty. Prices are commensurate with the quality of food and great service. If you don’t like the prices, you don’t appreciate good food.

Best bakery and butcher shop around. offering fresh made donuts of all kinds, home-made cookies, even mollases cookies the kind that grandma made along with her cinnamon twist bread, luscious cheese bread and other leafs. They sell lots of Guernsey ice creams. Their meat market offers high quality meats of all kinds which are fresh and added supplements to further enhance your palate.

So I was driving down Grand River a few weeks ago and saw this place but didn’t stop… So today I decided to stop in and get a sugary snack and I was blown away!! Not only was the apple crisp amazingly good, but they give you ” free coffee with purchase ” I know… And the crazy part was, that the coffee was equally as good as the sugary snacks behind the counter!! NO JOKE!! Huge thanks to everyone at Marv’s bakery for doing there part to make it all happen and be sure to try a molasses cookie… It might just be better than your mom’s recipe
