Her prep instructions were perfect and our meal turned out excellent. We all enjoyed her delicious Cuban food that reminded me of the Cuban food I’d get back in Florida as a child.
We will be buying Melissa’s food often as she put so much love in her food and you can taste that love that was handed down through the generations . Much love to Grandma Elvira !
Make sure to try all of the delicious options , we cannot wait to eat her food again.
First, my sandwich must have weighed 2 lbs, full pork which is marinated for 3 days. She adds ham, pickles, and mustard inside a grilled home-made bun. Fabulous and enough for 2 people.
I love supporting start-up businesses and Melissa is as hard working as the come, doing everything herself our of this commissary kitchen. She is passionate about her Cuban family roots and loves sharing her recipes to those who appreciate quality ethenic cuisine.
I can’t wait to try her other dishes. If you love Cuan food, do yourslef a favor—whether you live in Denver or Cheyenne, make the trip to try Elvira’s. You won’t be disappointed !
That all being said, last week we needed lunch take-out to accompany us & some out-of-town visitors on a little mountain getaway. My foodie gal decided we get Elvira’s because she was told it was good from someone somewhere. I don’t recall the name of everything we ordered but it was like 6ish different menu items which we all shared. I loved everything I tried! And so did everyone in our group. I also loved that it wasn’t that expensive to feed everyone. Very happy to have this establishment in Loveland. Good job, keep it up Elvira crew! We’ll be back asap.
To get your order, please go to the website and pre-order for take out or delivery, she offers via Uber eats as well. She is a one woman superstar so she has menus for each day she is open and stuff runs out, it helps to pre-order or plan ahead
Pick up is at a commercial kitchen, there is currently no dine in option.
You have definitely found one of your gifts! The cuisine was all fabulous. Solid Cubano/PR delicias!
That was my first Mallorca. I really liked it. The sweet bread was unique in a sandwich, for me.
I have to say…the beans were amazing! Brought back memories.
The Arroz con Gandules were also super, reminiscent of days gone by.
Did you make the bizcocho? I’m not usually a fan of cakes or cupcakes, but that was good. Moist and tasty.
I had a fine nap after lunch!
And this is just me. My first delivery was to a Puertoriqueño at a local business.
He was chowing down on the Cubano and Arroz con Gandules before I left. He was quite speechless, in awe of the arroz con gandules (which I knew he missed). He could barely utter words as he devoured the sampler. He did say he had chills when I was introducing the gift.
My neighbors were the next recipients. They got the tamales and the beans. Here are their thoughts…
“Oh wow this is incredible”
“Thanks again eddie. Really really great!”
They leave for Florida tomorrow. Maybe we’ll get a comparison with locals there.
I ate the empanadillas as part of breakfast the next morning. Dang! They reminded me of the pastelillos my mother used to make. The rice with olive oil were really enjoyable.
So happy the business is growing, and I am thrilled that I found you in the Loveland/Fort Collins area! Watch out…you may need to open a dine in option in the next few years. A food truck would be a nice addition as well. You have filled a needed niche.
Thank you for a wonderful day of dining!
Ed
Elvira’s Cuban Cuisine is authentic and delicious! Melissa is so passionate about her dishes and carrying on her family’s recipes.
We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the tamales. Can’t wait to try out more dishes soon!
While it’s just take out now it’s well worth finding this place and getting some terrific Cuban food, all authentic and made from scratch.
With enough support soon Elvira’s will become a brick and mortar establishment. A great addition to Loveland’s food scene.
