Reviews
I was really disappointed with my food at Cotixan Mexican food today, and I’m feeling quite frustrated with myself! I could have easily gone to at least two other fantastic Mexican restaurants within a mile, but I was nearby and decided to give this place a chance.
After waiting a few minutes, someone finally took my order at the drive-thru. I asked if they were open, and when I pulled up to the window, I noticed a gentleman who seemed to be a cook had taken my order. He handed the headset to the girl who processed my payment and gave me my food. The service was decent, given our brief interaction, but unfortunately, the food was a letdown.
I ordered three rolled tacos for less than seven dollars and added a side of rice and beans for an extra five dollars. I was really hungry, and rice and beans are my favorites from most places! I placed my order at 10:08 AM, and here’s what I found when I got my food: the rice had clumps, some parts were burned, and it was dry and hard. It was clear that this rice wasn’t made today—I couldn’t finish more than two bites! The beans were also dry, and the cheese on them didn’t look appealing at all.
The rolled tacos were okay, but the guacamole was brown, and there was more cheese than flavor. I ended up eating just two rolled tacos and had to discard the rest of the food in the broken box. I was in a rush and didn’t have time to go back for an exchange, but honestly, I just couldn’t.
Needless to say, I won’t be coming back here to eat if I can help it!
This used to be my go-to spot, but after this experience, I don’t feel like coming back. Really disappointing to see such a drop in quality from a place I once enjoyed so much.
Unfortunately, the employees at this restaurant have never been trained and they seem to think this is some remote village in Mexico where they can treat customers however they want.
Instead of installing a speaker system or a digital display to notify customers when their order is ready, the management has told the staff to whistle at customers. As if the customers were animals or dogs. Now imagine if the customer were deaf — maybe they would throw a rock at them to let them know their order is ready (lol).
If you take a look at the reviews, you will see the huge number of complaints people have written about the food quality, service, and staff behavior. Interestingly, the management has never even bothered to apologize or respond to any of those comments.
That means here the customer is never right. Now imagine what the situation might be like in the kitchen — where no one can monitor how the food is prepared and cooked!
The decision is up to you, but I’ve shared my opinion. This was the last time I bought food from this place.
It’s authentic, local, the staff is always friendly and has a nice vibe inside.
I had 2 potato tacos, rice & beans with some fresh warm chips. They have 3 types of freshly made salsas & I enjoyed all 3. Friendly service & fair prices. You can eat inside/outside but we took ours & went home. We’ll definitely be back next month & try some more of their vegetarian dishes.
