I did not have a good experience here. Although the environment is nice and inviting, the food was horrible. I ordered the “chopped cheese“ and, while my expectations weren’t high considering I am a New Yorker and this sandwich is a staple up there, I was tremendously disappointed. What I got at this place was not a chopped cheese AT ALL. It was a failed attempt to make one of the simplest sandwiches gourmet lol. It was an absolute disaster. If I saw this on the menu and ordered it as someone who was unfamiliar with this NY staple, I would not understand the hype. Rightfully so, because this is not at all representative of a New York chopped cheese. This absolutely needs to be taken off the menu immediately, as it is an embarrassment. The people I went to this restaurant with aren’t even New Yorkers and they thought the sandwich was hilarious because even they knew it was not right. That said, I did try to set aside the name of the sandwich and enjoy it as it was, and it still wasn’t good even if it was called something else. Positives: location and atmosphere. I haven’t been back, but I’m not opposed to giving it another chance and trying different things on the menu. I’m actually confident I would have a positive experience in the future, but THIS sandwich needs to be taken off the menu.

The highlight was Amber who stepped up when the ball was dropped on an order. No big deal but she was awesome. Super sweet.
Wasn’t impressed at all with anything. Another bar type burger joint, came hungry so everything usually tastes better but nothing made me wow. Everything was just ok or good. The desserts were def not impressive either. I mean congrats on the awards but this was nothing to brag about to anyone.

Our “Cheat night out” (meat) and so very happy we chose Sammy Barker’s. We had the Burger Battle burger: 2 FRESH PATTIES with gouda cheese, bacon onion jam, red cabbage slaw, sweet red pepper rings. Recommend the fresh cut fries with Cajun seasoning . Makes perfect pair. We also had to try the homade pork rinds with BEER CHEESE. OMG, FRESH and HOT and SOOOOO GOOD. Amber, our waitress, was super friendly and made our visit all the better. Looking forward to trying the other hamburgers and “cheating” here again

I recently went back to Sammy Barker’s for the first time in years and fell in love with their burgers!
Atmosphere: The space gives sports bar vibes with screens all over showing sports games. What I liked most is the space for all of the seating.
Service: The waitress was very kind, checked up on me throughout my visit, and brought out the food and drinks very quickly.
Menu items: I got their Red White N Bleu and Battle of the Bay Winner 2020 burgers, and they easily put Sammy Barker’s in the top 3 of my favorite burger spots. The Red White N Bleu was my favorite with a unique flavor profile and a savory meat patty that melts in your mouth. I also got their sweet potato waffle fries.
I plan to come back again to try more of their menu items—coneys, street tacos, sammiches, wings, etc.!

Street Chili was delicious . The service was good. However, I asked for a can of Guinness and a glass. Without asking the server poured it for me BUT, as I unfortunately find often in other places, the server had no idea how to pour a nitro Guinness properly. Even though there are detailed instructions how to pour it RIGHT ON THE CAN ! I know it sounds like a little thing but someone who drinks Guinness and is willing to pay a higher price for it usually knows a proper pour and is justified in expecting one. Truth is I’d much rather have the option of pouring it myself. I’ll be back however because there are lots of interesting items I saw on the menu that I really want to try. I’ll just have one of their many drafts

American street food. You can get hamburgers & hotdogs served in unique ways. My favorite is the hamburger with mushrooms, cheese and tater tots. They have tasty wings. They have tvs over the long bar. It’s great place to go watch a ball game. They also have various special … bingo nights, brunch, etc. I enjoy not only my food when I go here, but the activity.

Went here on a Tuesday night, February 2024. Food was really good, each of us had a variation on a burger. Got the tots and a drink to go with it. It was an “order at the counter” affair, and they brought the food to you. On other visits, there was a server, but this was our first time on a bingo/trivia night. Great food and fun entertainment made for a great experience.

The food here was really good with one exception-the chili. The chili had so much garlic in it that it was all I could overwhelmingly taste (and I really like garlic!). It was so strong, I am convinced we must have had a bad batch where someone accidentally added way too much. Besides the chili, all the food was tasty and served hot.
The service was good and our food was prepared quickly. Prices aren’t bad, but it can add up quickly if you want fries, etc. as it is all a la carte.
