Came after they reopened. Food was pretty good but most dishes didn’t impress us at all. We had the meatball (which feels like a randomly put together quick meal at home), the cod cheek (overcooked imo), the black bass (good but not memorable). Our favorite is the turnip. Dessert was just okay as well. For most dishes I feel like they could use more thought in putting them together.

Service and vibes are very enjoyable.

The music is so loud it’s ear-splitting. The space is very small, so with the music that loud everyone has to scream at each other to have a conversation. Blasting music and a small room full of screaming humans not only caused multiple noise alarms from my Apple Watch, but makes for an unpleasant dinner.

Bar Marco this is not. There is a “bar,” but it’s all reserved place-settings (so you can’t just walk in and sit at the bar). Without these bar place settings, they wouldn’t have the minimum number of seats to legally have a liquor license.

The menu is small and uninspired. The “Broken Meatballs” was just a couple of tiny half-meatballs on a piece of bread for $15. Upon sitting down, we were told they were a wine bar, but the wine list is very small and overpriced. It is also strange they had barely any Italian wines when the name of the restaurant is Italian.

Parking is non-existent. The main street of Etna is narrow and there are many competing businesses nearby. Uber or don’t bother.

Honestly, 10, out of 10. We went for Saturday brunch and the food/service was amazing. Matt and Jess are excellent hosts, chefs, and human beings.

The interior aesthetic is welcoming, soft tone colors, and beautiful artsy corners. The food however, is the true show. Both main course and deserts are on point. Highly recommend.

A little charming gem in Etna! We had the most delicious brunch on Mother’s Day. The choices were varied, unique and nicely plated. Had a very yummy mimosa, and the pastries !! Wonderful service . Go and enjoy!

Wow! Run, don’t walk here for dinner soon! You will not be disappointed. Honestly some of the best food I’ve enjoyed in Pittsburgh in a beautiful little setting that transports you to the south of France. The service is wonderful, the wine was so perfect, and the steak, risotto, and beet salad were fantastic!

Summary:
Amazing food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere. We’re definitely coming back and bringing friends!

Atmosphere
This place is so cute! When I walked in and saw the flowers in bud vases on every table, it immediately made my day. It has a cozy, modern art-deco feel, and tons of little details that I think are thrifted or vintage. The napkins are colorful and many are different patterns. The coffee comes it in adorable stoneware mugs with a vintage looking cream and sugar tray.

Food

The coffee is *amazing*. I wish I had asked what roast they use. The food is wonderful. I had a croque monsieur and my boyfriend had the ropa vieja. They both came out artfully plated, but I was too excited to dig in to take a picture, sorry. The croque was delicious. They layered Gruyère and ham a few times between homemade brioche. That brioche is the absolute best bread I have ever had. It’s unbelievably soft, it basically melted in my mouth. The ropa vieja was also delicious. The two eggs were perfectly cooked. The carnitas were incredibly tender. The seasoning was perfect. Even the rice’s flavor is worth noting. We were both very pleased with the food.

Service

The service was incredible. We were greeted immediately after walking in by a guy (whose name I didn’t get) who felt like an old friend. He was attentive, incredibly kind, and seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job, which made me happy.

Prices

I felt everything was about market price or slightly higher for brunch, but the quality made it really worth it. They also request no gratuity. I think the prices were all very reasonable.

We will be coming back. This has been added to the hidden gems I get to introduce people to (this and ETA Bar)

Edit:
The new Senza is even better–some instant favorites are the cabbage and turnip appetizers.

The food was delicious and the vibes were great. My partner and I felt taken care of in our brunch experience, but not overbearingly so. We will definitely be back again!

Amazing service and excellent food! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish, and we found the prices to be quite reasonable for a dining experience of this quality. Every dish was interesting and well-executed, and some of our personal favourites were the duck orecchiette, burrata, and pasta all’assassina, though everything was very good. The owner was so sweet and helpful, and we had a really great experience that I would highly recommend. We spent about $50 per person in total (we had 4 people) and left quite full.

One thing we personally would have liked is to have the space be just a touch brighter. While mood lighting is great, a big part of food experience for us is visual, so we would have liked to just be able to see everything a little better. The camera was able to capture the food much better than we were able to see it whilst enjoying.

I’m almost speechless. I haven’t had a good food experience in Pittsburgh in years, since New Lawrenceville happened, since Cure closed, since forever.

The menu was incredible, I had decision paralysis. I ended up with two small plates that blew my hair back. This salad was, without exaggeration, the best salad I’ve ever had in my life.

Additionally, my friends and I were not planning on a more upscale dining experience that day. We rolled in, sweaty and wearing trash clothes. We were treated so kindly and given so much attention. The staff is exceptional.

The care and attention put into the menu was similar. As the waiter was explaining how they decided on menu items, I could tell this food was a very intentional labor of love. I will absolutely be back- gnochetti with yellow fin tuna?? Yes please!

How lucky are we to have this gem in Etna!

Etna loves Senza! Everything is so good. The prosciutto and cheese roll is a must have. Get there right when they open so it’s still warm from the oven! Keep going back to try all the sweets like the peanut butter pie! I love that they do dine in and take away. Walking here every weekend is definitely going to be on our summer routine!
