Montreal food influencers strike again with yet another successful campaign of deceit!
Mange Dans Mon Hood is decent but “the best burger in Montreal”? Gimme a break. It’s not even the best smash burger in the city. That “MDMH” sauce in their Cali burger that everybody raves about is just Big Mac sauce. It tastes pretty much the same and that’s what that burger is: a Big Mac in smash burger form. It’s good but, you know, I can just have a Big Mac…
The Ol’ Dirty poutine is good but would be much better if there was burger meat in there. Still not a bad pick.
As for the place itself, yeah the pictures of all the rappers and other artists on the walls are awesome and I love the culture but it’s hard for the aesthetic to matter when the restaurant is so damn small. It fills up pretty quickly too so I don’t think you can ever be comfortable eating here, hence why the novelty of the artwork wears off almost instantly.
All in all, I give Mange Dans Mon Hood at 3/5. It’s not bad but it’s not amazing either.
Also, for now and forever: regular meat patty > smash burger

Excellent – all of it was excellent! The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was simple and cooked very well. The poutine was alright. The animal fries were good once you mixed it all together. Took a while to get food but it was lunch hour during the week when we went. Lots of people were coming through on their lunch break. I’d go back for sure.

The place and the staff are super nice. I had the burger sur place and it was absolutely delicious, an exceptional burger!
The patty is juicy and fantastic, and the bun is perfectly soft and balanced, holding everything together just right. The burger is truly out of this world

Casse-Croute is a hidden underground fast-food place in the area of Jean Talon. I came to this place because they told me they have the best Burger of Montréal, honestly I don’t think is the best, The burger was fresh and tasty but a little bit overcooked its a like a copy of a Big Mac Burger from Macdonalds. a hamburger without lettuce and without double bread.
The French fries were tasty even though they look a little bit burn. They have other things on the menu like poutines.
For the Atmosphere of the place you may find on the walls many stickers related to Asian culture movies all other kind of stuff. Temperature for the winter gets a little cold inside the restaurant.
For the service, orders are fast . But for the guy a the cash needs little more of contact with customers. Smiling is free.

Tried the burger at Casse-Croûte MangeDansMonHood and it was absolutely delicious! The bread was soft, the patty had a subtle smoky flavor, and everything came together perfectly. The restaurant is tucked away in a cozy basement spot, and the service was impressively quick. Even our kids loved the burger — and they usually don’t like hamburgers! Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

I’ve heard raving reviews about this place and, in terms of the vibe and staff, they’re spot on. The staff are super friendly and fast to serve, and the music and atmosphere in this spot is unique. It’s a small basement restaurant, but with enough room to dance to the nice tunes.
The food is where this place loses me. The fries were soggy and mushy, though decently seasoned, but a lot of little bits and potato skin pieces. The burger was extremely greasy, to the point where oil was literally pouring out of the wrapping paper. The burger also looked like it has been squished into a ball, compared to all the gorgeous photos I see in other reviews. It was covered in sauce, which is not bad, because I like a juicy burger, but it was a bit too much. Thankfully, they had given me a mountain of napkins, which were necessary. Worst of all, I found an eyelash (or a short hair) imbedded in the meat of my patty when I was nearly done eating. That completely put me off my food.
I feel like my experience is not the norm, and I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I need some time before I come back to this spot.

This place has an amazing, cozy vibe as soon as you walk in. It feels like an old-school vintage spot filled with memories and great energy. The food exceeded my expectations — I had the Cali burger with a poutine that had a beef patty in it . In addition, it’s budget-friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back and sharing this amazing spot with my friends.

What a vibe it is here! From the wallpaper, to the lights, to the furniture, to the outdoor seating. They only have 2 burgers to pick from but you can always add on toppings. After trying the cali burger, i had to go back for a second one. It was beyond expectations. I don’t know what they put in their house sauce, but it’s addictive! As for the fries, id say they didn’t live up to the quality of the burgers. The fries were skinny, over-fried, and dry (both in the house fries and animal style fries). Hopefully it was just a one time thing! Despite this, I would still return just for the burger.

The burgers are AMAZINGGG!!! As much as I wish the meat would be a little bit thicker, overall, it’s perfect.
The fries are also so good and totally unique I find.

Casse-Croûte is a must visit for burger lovers. They have a simple menu wiyh 2 different burgers. Your classic cheese burger which was juicy sloppy and delicious!!! The fries are freshly made and miles away better than any of those fast food chains. You get to choose from a variety of drinks from soft drinks to local beers.
