Visited the Oakton location and had an absolute feast! We ordered the BBQ platter, and everything was spot on. The ribs were smoky and tender (fall-off-the-bone good!), and the fried chicken was surprisingly crispy and juicy. The sides—especially the cornbread muffins, BBQ beans, and fries—were the perfect complement. Even the salad was fresh and crisp. Portions are huge and great for sharing. If you’re looking for solid, authentic BBQ in the area, this is the place. Highly recommended!

We were literally the only customers in the main seating area and it took the waiter a long time to take our order. Apparently some “frequent customers” came in shortly after us and we were forgotten about as he tended to them and ignored us for a while.
The main dishes weren’t bad, but our dessert came out with a hair in the ice cream. I immediately flagged down the waiter and showed him the dish and he took it back. I could hear a female employee talking about it in the back area. She seemed to think it was funny that we found a hair in the food. That’s what happens when you hire young kids to do customer service and things like that become a joke which was really frustrating.
Edited 12/2025- brought our family to have dinner there and it was an awful experience. The booth we were sat at smelled like urine and they had a wall plug in to try masking the smell. It was horrendous and we couldn’t eat our food because the pee smell was so overwhelming. We will not be returning to this location.

My server Faith was amazing. I came in hoping my brother could join me for dinner, but after a long wait, he wasn’t able to make it. Faith brought out my food and made the environment so positive for me! I love the service here that Famous Dave’s provides and Faith is the quintessence of what a server should be!

My girlfriend and I love eating at Famous Dave’s and try to make it in at least once a month. The food is usually spot on, which is why this visit to the Famous Dave’s Oakton location caught us off guard.
Unfortunately, this time the ribs were burnt, the coleslaw tasted rancid, and the mashed potatoes were overcooked. It was disappointing, especially since we’ve had so many great meals here before.
That said, what happened next is exactly why we’ll continue coming back. We called the restaurant and the gentleman who answered connected us to the manager (I wish I could remember her name!). She was incredibly apologetic and immediately issued us a full refund. More than that, she sounded genuinely upset that our experience didn’t meet their standards.
Mistakes happen anywhere, but the way this was handled truly impressed us. The customer service turned a bad meal into a reason to stay loyal. We’ll absolutely be back — not just for the BBQ, but because it’s clear they really care about their guests.

Came here a month ago and everything was great. We came back and ordered take out and the brisket was unbelievable bad. It was discolored, very rubbery- like it was old and had been microwaved- Too disgusting to even eat. Unfortunately, since it was take out and we’d driven home, we couldn’t take it back. It was so unlike what we experienced in the restaurant. I’ll never order take out from this restaurant again. At least if we eat in, if the brisket shows up like that we can send it back as inedible.

Thank you Famous Daves for making our Christmas Eve celebration memorable. The steps from ordering to pick up were handled professionally and courteously. The food was outstanding. The portions were generous and tasted awesome.
We have two gluten free persons. There was no problem when we asked for the vanilla wafer cookies to be separate from the banana pudding.

Food was great! Drinks were amazing. We had a large group of 14 and they sat us immediately. Service was awesome. Brisket was tender with good flavor, burnt ends sandwich was yummy, kids meals was all good, Fries was fabulous. They provide wipes on for clean up after chow down.

Since Famous Dave’s moved out of the Richmond area, it is always one of my favorite places to go whenever I am near one. This was my first time visiting this location, but they did not disappoint. The food was delicious! The new lunch special is a great deal. There was a minor mishap with the waitress charging our card for another family’s meal, but aside from that, it was a pleasant experience.
