We tried this little charming place, the waitress and staff were very welcoming & friendly. The whole catfish as well as the catfish filets were delicious, seasoned well, outstanding but, for me, the greens, creamed corn and fried green beans need seasoning. These vegetables are great for older, geriatric customers who prefer bland veggies. The sweet potato casserole, onion rings and homemade apple turnover were ok. There was a stage and the waitress stated live band on Friday and Saturday. This place would be good for older people but I am sorry, don’t think we’ll return

For the most part, I’d say that Sweetpea’s food was pretty good. I liked that my fish had a decent amount of crisp to it and that it came with tarter sauce. The only thing that I wish that it could have done was include two sides with my sandwich instead of one. But hey, that’s probably because I currently only make $15 an hour.
Otherwise, if you’re looking for a last minute brunch place, then I’d say that it’s worth trying Sweetpea’s at least once. And yes, the purple peas are pretty good in case anyone is wondering.

The server stated the turnip greens were fresh…. not canned and the potatoes were fresh not instant. That was incorrect. The only thing I liked was my salad. We really wanted fresh country cooking and we were very disappointed.

Everything was good but it does feel up fast. Note entrance is in the rear with parking. A few people tried to come in off of stage and door was locked. Everything was good. Just note a slightly smaller menu that the sweet peas in Desoto.

First time visit on October 4th 2025. I ordered the chicken livers and turnip greens with cornbread. The food was excellent and the portions were large. It was a lot of delicious deep fried chicken livers with an unusual breading that was different but still delicious. The chicken livers were so clean that you didn’t get that usual flavor… but it was even better. The turnip greens tasted authentic to me. The best part of the experience was the good friend I was dining with! Best to park around the back of the building since they’re on the main drag and there is no parking in the front of the restaurant. Nice little jewel right in the heart of Bartlett, Tennessee. Prices are also quite reasonable. Everyone in the place… from the lady at the register to the two waitresses we saw were all very pleasant and friendly. This is a casual diner type restaurant. The doors entering the restrooms could have been a bit cleaner but it was a very busy day with the Bartlett fall festival. We got there mid-afternoon after the crowd left… So that is understandable. This was my first time and it definitely won’t be my last!

I ordered to-go and was pretty disappointed. The chicken breast was soggy on the bottom and when I tried to pull it apart, it was nearly impossible, extremely tough. Fried chicken should pull apart easily so I was afraid to take a bite. Either it was underdone or seemed to have been boiled before being battered and fried. The potatoes were fine, the macaroni and cheese were dry and bland and the rolls were the kind you find in the freezer section. If it were cheaper, I probably wouldn’t have complained but for the price point, at lunch even, the food quality needs to be better. My daughter liked her corn dogs but the fries were unseasoned. Overall, likely won’t return.

People love this place. I had chicken livers that were good, not great, with a serviceable piece of cornbread. Turnip greens lacked any flavor and fried okra was soft. Hubby had some kind of meat steak with gravy that I tasted and did not like. His meal was completed with mashed potatoes and hush puppies. He said they were okay. That sums it up. It’s okay. Wasn’t the cleanest place but staff was sweet.

Sweetpeas is a cute little dinner with excellent staff that really take care of the dinners. The food left alot to be desired, chicken fried steak was for sure a frozen reheated patty. Prices are reasonable.
